Gun range's ban on Muslims draws fire

Now liberals should be all over this story, vehemently wanting to keep guns out of the hands of dangerous people. Amazing no muslims have come forward to sue, why is that? Another observation on my part of another hot looking conservative, wow!

Oh, A Muslim free zone for the safety of their customers.

Several points here.

How do these folks know whom is a Muslim? Do they have a certain look? Does this ability allow them to tell First Baptists from Southern Baptists on sight? Or is it simply more of a race thing, anyone with Semitic or Asian features may be a Muslim?

Next, is this actually a problem? In Arkansas? While not being a fan of indoor gun ranges myself (I prefer shooting outdoors on free ranges), I have heard the tales of rented guns being turned on others, or folks committing suicide with one. But a Muslim, presumably also a terrorist, renting a gun and shooting someone? Or bringing their own and shooting someone? Never heard of it.

Last, is this just a shameless publicity stunt preying upon the prejudices of bigots in order to generate publicity? This I tend to think.


Indeed, I still think that this is nothing more than a publicity stunt where folks are pandering to the bigotry and ignorance of the, well, bigoted and ignorant.

So far, no Muslims have attempted to use the range that we know of, why would they when they know they would be harassed. But they did recently turn down brown skinned father and son who had actually previously used the range before their no Muslim policy. . .course they aren't Muslim.

Kinda goes to the depth of what this business thinks Muslims are.

Well they surely have a questionnaire to prove you're a good Christian and not some plotting Muslim.

My question is where is the NRA? Isn't keeping any segment of the population from the gun range a slippery slope of erosion leading to the denial of every good American's right to leave a loaded gun around for their children to play with?

 

As TFM correctly pointed out, how would they know who a muslim is? Not all muslims are brown skinned, or is that your race comment inciting more color division?

Read the article. The place turned away 2 non-Muslims because they were non-white Indian decent. The gun range used the perceived race of the patrons as judgement of whether they were Muslim.

 

Wait, 30,000 people every year are killed with guns and suddenly guns are dangerous in the wrong hands? I think the irony is lost on you. I think the entire conversation is over your head.

 

What does this have to do with a) dangerous people or b) keeping guns out of their hands? I don't see how preventing "Muslims" (i.e. anyone with an unusual name who looks a bit too brown) from using a single shooting range achieves that aim.

Presumably no Muslims have sought to use the range and been refused. I mean, how many Muslims are there in the likely market for this business? How many would go there now knowing there are armed people who presume anyone Muslim is a threat?

The scheme was successful then, though she's far from the first to play it. Spin a story to the trash media (doesn't matter how much truth is in it - were these Muslims with the "Allah Akbar" ringtone ever actually confirmed after all?), make sure the name of the business is front and centre in the story and let the money roll in. A bit of risk/reward balance but they were on a fairly good bet overall.

 

A number that includes about 20,000 suicides as well as justifiable homicides by self defense and cops shooting bad guys. Most of the rest is gang activity, darn, gang bangers shooting other gang bangers, darn.

But libs blame all of that on "gun nuts", hunters, and the NRA.

Surly you know that half of those people shot themselves.. They would have had to hang themselves, take poison, jump off of a building, (*)(*)(*)(*) me off, crash their car into the front of a big truck, etc. were it not for the convenient gun.

 

All fair questions, but it seems to me the murder from our military bases are from muslims allowed to have guns. Very scary

Not entirely sure what you're trying to say but if it's that there are lots of shootings on military bases by Muslims, that's not actually true and I don't see how discrimination at a civilian shooting range is really relevant to people in the military who will have access to weapons and training anyway.

 

It's Arkansas. I think it is more likely to hear "Bubba, it is my turn for our cousin Cindy Lou to be my girlfriend, bang bang".
