I don't really have a favorite because my tastes vary from day to day, but I do like grilled cheese with bacon and tomato or, if I don't have any tomato, dip it in tomato soup! I also really like bacon, egg and cheese! Yum! [IMG]

They're even better with lots of butter slathered on each piece of bread to smoothen the way down for the pb and fluff. Sort of like eating a sandwich on a ski.

A Swiss Cheese and Dill Pickle on toasted bread with mustard after the sandwich has been left out in a broiling hot automobile in a sandwich baggie for most of a late July or August day. Yum!

A hot dog with 'the works' from Leon's in Milwaukee. Followed by a hot fudge sundae made with real custard.

Reuben with hot pastrami on black German rye, served with Roggenbier. A celebration of the great alternate grain.

I just noticed that there is one thing missing from that sandwich, and it is a piece of cheese! Yummy! I'm going to go out and get me one of those tomorrow!

I also sometimes like tuna sandwich, but I put potato chips in my sandwich. I really like it that way. Sometimes I chop up some pickles and put those in my tuna too. That is delicious. If you've never had a tuna sandwich with pickles and chips, you really need to do that ASAP. Also, tuna sandwiches are better on a soft roll rather than bread, IMO.

My favorite kind of sandwich was an Italian style sub from a little hole in the wall Pizza/Sub place in Miami in the late 1980s. It had peperoni, sausage, cheese, etc.

I like turkey sandwiches with lettuce, tomato and Miracle Whip. That is pretty much all I eat for a week after Thanksgiving. Sometimes, I also like to make a Thanksgiving sandwich if I have other leftovers, with turkey, stuffing and cranberry salad. Yummers!

I have become recently infatuated with liverwurst and sliced onions on toasted bread with a little mayo.

I heard this awesome new recipe, and I'm going to try it. It is Jalapeno popper grilled cheese. You just char up some peppers, cut them into strips and put them on your grilled cheese, cook as usual! I can't wait to try it. I bought all the ingredients, except I'm substituting Poblano peppers for Jalapenos (because jalapenos are a little too hot for me). I will make some tomorrow and let you all know, but I don't see how you can go wrong. It sounds delicious and easy.

    ^^^

I wonder if that sandwich would be good with bacon on it too? :hmm: Something to think about.

I like the old stand by, peanut butter and jelly. But when I was in Germany, I became very fond of Peanut butter and pickle sandwich, dill pickles is better sweet. I also like peanut butter and bacon.

Never tried either of those combinations. Lol! I like pickles in my tuna but probably not so much on peanut butter. Doesn't sound very compatible.

When I first started making them, I can't remember where the idea came from but I was stationed in Germany at the time. Anyway, everyone laughed at me. Then I would bring in one PB and Pickle and one PB and bacon for lunch. It wasn't long before most of the folks I worked around were making them.

I just cannot understand how pickles and peanut butter would taste good together . . . or bacon and peanut butter. Sounds kind of yucky, but I've never tried it, so I couldn't really say. I can tell you that I won't be rushing to make one though! [IMG]
