Let's, for the sake of argument, stipulate that those are left wing examples of 'race pimping' because I am not here to debate specifics. Is there in the realm of your memory, any examples of 'race pimping' or use of the 'race card' by either pundits or political figures on the right?

 

Good example but I think it proves my point more than yours.

Henry Louis Gates was the guy arrested when he called the cops to report a possible break-in of his home. When the cop arrived they found Gates forcing the door of his home open and when they asked Gates to step back outside he refused, a conflict began, and he was arrested but all charges were dropped. Gates was pissed to endure the ordeal and the cops acted accordingly to showing up to a home invasion call to find a buy breaking a door down, but in the end everything was fine.

Liberal media, and the typical race pimps including a few Professors at Harvard, instantly declared it racial bias and ran with the typical "mean ol' racist whitey oppressing Black man" narrative.

Then Obama stuck dipped his fat toe in the water and accused the cops even though by the time he did everything was settled.

So aside from what Beck said, this is an example of the race pimpers jumping to a fight that had no substance other than agenda of the people promoting it.

 

It's only considered a 'racial slur' by a very small minority of people who have thin skin and don't realize it comes from a work of fiction based upon black oral story traditions......and was part of a Disney movie loved by generations of children.......

 

Horrible. I've heard all about it on my local news. He was actually honored at the White House last year and now is fighting for his life. The Roxbury/Dorchester area is a pretty bad. Kind of like ghetto.

Here I think you are absolutely right. It was entirely clear from the context that he was using it in constraints of that Webster definition. The modern racial connotations just don't apply.

 

I was asking about what Beck said, and that is closer to racial pimping than anything Obama said, if you will look at the quote from Obama in context. As for these professors, jumping the gun or even being wrong about an issue involving potential racism, is not the same as 'racial pimping'. I was wrong on the Doug Lamborn example, but I stand my ground on Beck.

 

Ok well lets take your example for comparison.

You remember we were discussing the partisan existence of an race pimping agenda.

For the left its indisputably established and practiced ad infinitum from the lowest blogger, to national media, to people who have made race pimping their profession, all the way up to The President Of The United States and other high government offices.

For the right, well we seem to have just one comment from a guy who's job is to make disruptive comments.

Then of course there's the goal of an agenda which is to change minds.

Its certainly been accomplished on the left.

The hate is greater than ever and its lead to riots, looting, flash mob thieving, hate crime gang beatings, police assassinations, and the general sense that its all justified because of some backwards sense of retribution.

On the right, what is there?

Really the only thing you could say is that there's more discussions about Black crime than there were before but nobody is going out doing anything about it.

Realistically if there was a Right wing race pimp agenda certainly by now we would have seen some sort of counter response to the riots an the looting and the assassinations and so on.

Let's see. Beck is a radio show personality. Obama is the POTUS. ....and we're comparing racial slurs between them? The fact we're even doing that speaks volumes. How many times was Bush accused of inciting racial strife?

Don't liberals understand what they're arguing over. We shouldn't even be talking about Obama throwing the race card, yet here we are. He the POTUS. He should be above such petty bs like injecting himself into stories before the facts are known, looking No better than Sharpton. But he uses his race to influence people which is dangerous and why racial tensions have risen so dramatically.

 

Yup, and my ex's mother was born and raised in that area. She said it used to be a very NICE area when she was young. Same with Jamaica Plain.

 

So that means cops were getting shot before the incident in Ferguson, MO took place. I am pretty sure there are plenty of police officers who could look like his son and to try and make the claim that the President doesn't care about police officers is asinine.

 

I pray for the full recovery of the cop. As for the perp, his passing is little more than cleansing one more festering boil from the gluteus maximus of the gene pool.

 

Has he spoken out on this shooting of a cop?

 

Does he need to speak every time someone is shot?

 

Police forces in America have been oppressing people for decades, so it shouldn't come as a surprise when some of the oppressed people lash out.

 

The solution is simple. Vote. And not fall for the left right paradigm. While Obama wants people to stay the course he is still giving military gear to the police, Votes in the Patriot Act again, NDAA, etc etc etc..

Dont listen to what people say watch what they DO!.

 

Millions of Americans don't need any prompting from Al Sharpton or Eric Holder to hate the police. The police do a good enough job of making people hate them all by themselves.

 

The founding fathers didn't vote out the British...

 

Police enforce the law. Both parties are to blame for this. Be it the War on Drugs or stupid nanny state laws. Yes people get mad for getting tickets for stupid things. Or going to jail for a little weed. The police do not write the laws. The police do not make the training programs.. The police are TAUGHT that we are the enemy and that is ALL federal or State governments working with the Feds.
