I know, I know, the Russians are only doing it to invade America, but Russia has plans in the works to link Europe with the US by road and rail. What say, let's be friends...Uhhh! I mean left handed friends.

Plans for a new high-speed transport corridor that could potentially link London and New York by rail and superhighway have been unveiled.

The idea, dubbed the Trans-Eurasian Belt Development (TERP), would see a high speed railway and motorway built from Eastern Europe, across Siberia and over the Bering Strait to Alaska.

Vladimir Yakunin, the head of Russia’s state railways, told a meeting of the Russian Academy of Sciences that the project could link existing networks and supercharge global economic growth.

It would also feature oil and gas pipelines to connect Russia’s petro-industries more directly to the rest of the world.

I doubt that the US would go for it.

Now we have to add terp to derp and herp. It's too bad that western governments can no longer build infrastructure effectively.

Great idea though very expensive and a long way off. Nothing ensures true peace than world trade. I hope it materializes.

link to what? that the USA and Canada have failed to express any interest in a mere fantasy and not even close to an actual international infrastructure proposal?

let me know when Russia actually formally pitches this proposal to North America.

like I said, no formal proposal has been made by Russia to North America.

    no engineering plans made.

    no logistics investigated.

    there's nothing to reply to

You're asking for a link to something that doesn't exist?

Train systems are a favorite way to transport troops.

Liberals love trains but the oil and gas pipelines are a deal breaker.

    that's what I am saying.

there are no plans, formal or even informal, for such a train route.

    its just a silly idea.

It will probably actually happen at some point in the future. Especially if the ice actually melts from natural climate change as we come out of the last ice age. And perhaps by then, the US won't have a burr up its ass, nor will it be governed by the oligarchs and the inbred rulers we currently have. That would bring us to great cooperation with other powers, as we give up this oligarchal militarized evil empire and decide to treat the rest of humanity the way we want to be treated.

Of course, that will take for your sort of character to die off, as well as neo liberalism and neo conservatism bent on world domination at the business end of a rifle. We will have to see a cleansing of the American war mongers, who like to be entertained by big explosions and the death of other less fortunate americans, as they sit on their fat asses in their easy chairs, figuring up how much money they made on investment this month from blood money investments in the corporate war department.

America and her people used to be a good nation and a good people. Today, they feel entitled, an entitlement from some god, to rule over others, to impose their corrupt oligarchy that they call a constitutional republic upon others, so our elites can exploit them for profit. Of course we have people who do not really want this, for they do not benefit in the least from this rotten system, but they are so stupid as to not to be able to see how the two parties play them, and too tribalized to see that it doesn't matter who is in power, the dems or the repubs, for both are doing the bidding of the elites, and have not represented the American people since JFK.

But I have faith and hope in the American genetics, and that one day the People will finally wake up, and get back on a good and righteous course, and stop the war mongering, stop the exploiting of others, so that a few of us can max out their dirty profits.

Might have happened in the future if Russia was not a despotic dictatorship.

its not that difficult too understand, the routes would earn around 7 billion a year just from rail freight alone with a projected cost of 100 billion it would take only a few years from the bridge too essentially pay for itself.

the biggest problem isn't the bridge but building the roads and rail lines in the areas near where alasks and russia meet. most of the region doesn't even have paved roads on both sides of the border. but since russia has already agreed to pay for 65 billion of the cost and has been building this project since 2011 im sure it will be completed no matter what.

why would they need permission? theyre investing billions too develop what is essentially frozen tundra? they might effect some polar bears and eskimos but other than that, why would either country say no to such a project? can you find a link too someone from either country protesting its construction? or even give a reason why they would?
