Friedman of the New York Times said that Kiev shares our values, while the parliament in Kiev voted to extend official recognition to the Ukrainian fascists who collaborated with the Nazis. These Ukrainian collaborators living in what was originally a part of Poland, killed hundreds of thousands of Poles, Jews, Russians, Hungarians, Romanians, Armenians, and everyone else who was not a 'pure' blooded Ukrainian speaking Ukrainian in order to establish their pure Ukrainian state.

They did so in ways which shocked even hardened Germans in its barbarity. Does this mean that we too honor Nazi collaborators...as Friedman said?

The U.S.-backed Ukrainian government came up with a curious way to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Holocaust being brought to an end. The parliament in Kiev voted to extend official recognition to Ukrainian fascists who collaborated with the Nazis in killing Jews.

Though Official Washington and the mainstream U.S. media continue to dutifully ignore the key role played by neo-Nazis in Ukraine’s February 2014 coup and in the post-coup regime’s subsequent military offensives against ethnic Russians in the east, Ukrainian politicians can’t stop their arms from snapping into Heil Hitler salutes like the fictional character Dr. Strangelove. They can’t hold back this reflex even as the world recalled the Nazi barbarity that claimed the lives of some six million Jews as well as other minorities.

The Ukrainian parliament passed a bill recently making the ultra-nationalist Ukrainian Insurgent Army eligible for official government recognition, a demand that has been pushed by Ukraine’s current neo-Nazi and ultra-nationalist movements, the same forces that spearheaded the overthrow of elected President Viktor Yanukovych in February 2014 and then the slaughter of thousands of ethnic Russians who resisted the new order.

Ukraine’s honor-the-Nazi-collaborators vote came amid increased repression of opposition politicians and journalists who dare to criticize the Ukraine's U.S.-backed regime as it moves to repudiate the political settlement envisioned by February’s Minsk-2 agreement and instead prepares for a resumption of the war to crush the resistance in eastern Ukraine once and for all.

Over the past several months, there have been about ten mysterious deaths of opposition figures– some that the government claimed to be suicides while others were clearly murders. It now appears that pro-government “death squads” are operating with impunity in Kiev. Read on -

People won't even look at this thread because it totally blows up their fallacious worldview. They have been heavily conditioned to reject even the possibility that the US government would be collaborating with Nazis and Nazi sympathizers in Ukraine.

The US has long supported fascist mentality. We taught the fascist hand salute to our children just as the fascists did in Germany.
We put fasces on our money. And we put 2 large fasces on the wall by the Speaker's podium in Congress.
Our cops used to dress like fascists in Germany, and they often act the same way too.
Certainly our never ending stream of wars of aggression qualify as fascistic too.
We even have the world's largest concentration camps.

Russia honors Soviet war criminals, the Cheka, Stalin, the NKVD, and allows tens of thousands of Russian Neo-Nazis to march in Moscow.

I don't think they have a right to judge.

Who gives a damn what Russia thinks about this? Anyone with a functioning brain can see what's going on in Ukraine. That the West tries to hide, obfuscate and whitewash these ass-clown fascists ought to upset anyone. It's an assault on our sensibilities and an insult to our intelligence.

Go ahead, though, and let your hatred for all things Putin rob you of any independent thought and humanity you might have once had.

    Pathetic ..... just pathetic.

Ha, our government collaborated with real Nazis, providing them with the asylum after the WWII and paying them different social supports till almost... now.
The Bushes had business relations with Germany during the war. As many other businessmen.
So nothing, absolutely nothing new in the fact that our government support Ukrainian Nazi policies of today. Cause they don't actually care about Nazis, or nationalist, or else. Everything that matters is all types of benefits. And if they see any profit - they will find any explanation to justify any possible decision.

On this subject the Ratlines are required reading. One of several excellent books on this topic is Aarons and Loftus Unholy Trinity.

if Russians can honor the satanic war criminal Stalin, why can't others honor Nazis?
