What happens then?

I know the answer. But have YOU considered the consequences?

If you suggest that as a way to stop the violence, take a clue from the Israelis, who have used your suggested solution to try stopping the Palestinian violence.

How has that worked out for them?

Seeing a cop and taking off is probably cause. Hitting a cop is assault just like it is anyone else. Mouthing off to a cop could be non violent resisting arrest or interfering with the duties of a LEO.

Of course your rights dont end there but neither does the cops nor his duty to uphold the law.

Has anyone seen Obama come out and try to put an end to this or is he golfing again? Its nearing the end of his second term, when can we expect him to actually start being a leader?
I guess his silence means he condones this type of behavior.

Once it reached this point of looting i would have been critical if he did nothing true but i CAN still be criticial of his actions if i think they cause more harm then good.

Again logic. Try it.

"Mary had a little lamb, its fleece was white as snow...." :cynic: -- "RACIST! RACIST! This guy obviously idolizes White Supremacy!"

Poor Baltimore... unwilling witness to the Black community reveling in displaying its one core-competency.... :spin: -- "Riot! Riot! It's what we DO!"

Riot, looting prompt state of emergency, curfew in Baltimore

By TOM FOREMAN Jr. and AMANDA LEE MYERS

BALTIMORE (AP) — Rioters plunged part of Baltimore into chaos Monday, torching a pharmacy, setting police cars ablaze and throwing bricks at officers hours after thousands mourned the man who died from a severe spinal injury he suffered in police custody.

The governor declared a state of emergency and called in the National Guard to restore order. A weeklong, daily curfew was imposed beginning Tuesday from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., the mayor said.

Seven officers were hurt, some with broken bones, and one was unresponsive, said Capt. Eric Kowalczyk. Officers wearing helmets and wielding shields occasionally used pepper spray to keep the rioters back. For the most part, though, they relied on line formations to keep protesters at bay.

Monday's riot was the latest flare-up over the mysterious death of Freddie Gray, whose fatal encounter with officers came amid the national debate over police use of force, especially when black suspects are involved. Gray was African-American.

Emergency officials were constantly thwarted as they tried to restore calm. Firefighters trying to put out a blaze at a CVS store were hindered by someone who sliced holes in a hose connected to a fire hydrant, spraying water all over the street and nearby buildings.

The smell of burned rubber wafted in the air in one neighborhood where youths were looting a liquor store. Police stood still nearby as people drank looted alcohol. Glass and trash littered the streets, and small fires were scattered about. One person from a church tried to shout something from a megaphone as two cars burned.

"Too many people have spent generations building up this city for it to be destroyed by thugs, who in a very senseless way, are trying to tear down what so many have fought for, tearing down businesses, tearing down and destroying property, things that we know will impact our community for years," said Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, a lifelong resident of the city.

Gray's family was shocked by the violence and was lying low; instead, they hoped to organize a peace march later in the week, said family attorney Billy Murphy. He said they did not know the riot was going to happen and urged calm.

"They don't want this movement nationally to be marred by violence," he said. "It makes no sense."

Police urged parents to locate their children and bring them home. Many of those on the streets appeared to be African-American youths, wearing backpacks and khaki pants that are a part of many public school uniforms.

The riot broke out just as high school let out, and at a key city bus depot for student commuters around Mondawmin Mall, a shopping area northwest of downtown Baltimore. It shifted about a mile away later to the heart of an older shopping district and near where Gray first encountered police. Both commercial areas are in African-American neighborhoods.

BALTIMORE, MD - APRIL 27: Friends and relatives say their last goodbyes to Freddie Gray as his cask …
Later in the day, people began looting clothing and other items from stores at the mall, which became unprotected as police moved away from the area. About three dozen officers returned, trying to arrest looters but driving many away by firing pellet guns and rubber bullets.

Downtown Baltimore, the Inner Harbor tourist attractions and the city's baseball and football stadiums are nearly 4 miles away. While the violence had not yet reached City Hall and the Camden Yards area, the Orioles canceled Monday's game for safety precautions.

Many who had never met Gray gathered earlier in the day in a Baltimore church to bid him farewell and press for more accountability among law enforcement.

The 2,500-capacity New Shiloh Baptist church was filled with mourners. But even the funeral could not ease mounting tensions.

Police said in a news release sent while the funeral was underway that the department had received a "credible threat" that three notoriously violent gangs are now working together to "take out" law enforcement officers.

One has to question the logic of the Mayor of Baltimore in attempting to appease the mobs that are now assaulting the police, looting and burning stores then assaulting the firemen that have responded to the fires set by looters. In one of the video views on cable TV, I saw a looter bring a large roll on suitcase to the CVS that was being looted. Planned demonstrations organized by anarchists and the gangs? You decide. Seven LEO's injured one is unresponsive. I guess the prophetic prose of the Turner Diaries are coming true. Progressive National Socialists are using race to overthrow America.

Yep . . . there are only two logical conclusion; either Barack Obama is so clueless as to be stupid regarding the established patterns that his interference keeps causing . . . OR . . . he's doing this deliberately to keep racial fires burning.

Most of the protesters seemed to be teenaged high school kids.

The Mayor asked parents to get their kids off the streets.

What leads you to believe they were drug gangs?

You say he did bad, but you offer no counter examples, nothing to establish that he has done anything but his best. It is logic, or if logic means accepting things at face value, then it is not.

I don't recall any police dying.

PK: Does that give the Police (who I overwhelmingly support) the green light to kill him?

Freddy didn't deserve to die.

Violent rioting rages across Baltimore (At least seven police officers injured in just one incident)
The Baltimore Sun ^ | April 27, 2015 | Scott Dance
Posted on 4/27/2015, 7:12:32 PM by 2ndDivisionVet

Violence and looting overtook much of West Baltimore on Monday, seriously injuring several police officers and leaving a store and several vehicles in flames..

At least seven police officers were injured in a clash that began near Mondawmin Mall and spread toward downtown. One officer was unresponsive and others suffered broken bones, police spokesman Capt. Eric Kowalczyk said.

Smoke filled the air as police responded with shields and a tactical vehicle. Demonstrators pelted officers with rocks, bricks and bottles and assaulted a photojournalist, and officers fired back with tear gas and pepper balls.

Demonstrators set a police vehicle ablaze at North and Pennsylvania avenues. Nearby, they looted a CVS drug store, which store officials said had already closed, before it caught fire. Rioters cut the fire hose as firefighters battled the blaze....

**[snip]**
Fifteen police officers were injured in a clash with school-age children that began around 3 p.m., and two remain hospitalized, police Col. Darryl DeSousa said in a press conference Monday night. Earlier, police spokesman Capt. Eric Kowalczyk said one officer was unresponsive and others suffered broken bones.

View the videos of the destruction that has occurred, a anarchist looter wearing a gas mask cutting a high pressure fire hose battling the fire, or a looter rolling up a large suitcase to the CVS store being looted. Fifteen LEO's injured and some fired upon. Hmm..., while Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake imposes a curfew for Tuesday but not this evening. One has to wonder why these edicts were not imposed before and not later.

So Maryland doesn't have a Governor? Doesn't Baltimore have a mayor? Are the other Governors and mayors sitting on their butts without a plan of action before stuff hits the fan? If the Governor and mayors had been competent they would have drafted a plan of action after the Ferguson incident. It's not like it's not going to happen again. The time to make hard decisions is before stuff happens; not afterwards.
