Lets say all the immigrants to our nation were legal immigrants. Does ethno-racial even matter? Does skin color even matter anymore, does national beliefs and ideals define a true citizen? In nations some nations like China, ethnicity really defines citizenship, while in USA it is more of a nationality thing where anyone can get citizenship. Should this system be controlled? Should the government have a role of the percentage of who is white and who is not and the growth of non-whites and multi-ethnics?
If someone legally immigrated to this country I say fantastic and welcome to America. Immigration created this country and I personally am proud that people all over the world choose to be Americans. Skin color, religion, culture, all that is secondary to a desire to succeed and create a life in the greatest country in the world. It is that desire that is truly America and that is why those immigrants are truly Americans.
