If the image is truly Mars' horizon then the camera is laying on it's side.

A partial image (70 lines) was transmitted. Although this image appears to show the horizon and dark sky, the photograph was taken with a cycloramic camera. This means that to correctly view the photograph it should be turned 90 degrees clockwise, According to the Soviet Academy of Sciences there is nothing, horizon or otherwise, identifiable in the photograph.[4].

1. Russia even with all the failures is leading in an amount of successful launches. The market is ours and we will not get out of it just because some posts in the Internet.
2. Russian space program was based on mutual collaboration of different industrial centers in former USSR. This also includes Ukraine, which stopped any economical activity after the westerners decided to use it for blackmailing of russians. So the problems were inevitable and they have come visible with the disasterous chain of launches.
3. The danger for russian space exists. If Russia as a country and community of engineers and scientists fails to find their weak points then we will gradually lose our positions to competitors. But frankly speaking the loss of technology which goes hand in hand with a loss of cultural values goes for the westerners much faster than it happens in Russia.

The truth is that so far russian space rockets are the cheapest and the most reliable. Still. There are systemic problems. Silly to deny. The economy is getting ready for the war with the aggressors who still have the dumb habit to regard us as 'untermenchen'. So those people who started to deal with new 'Angara' project are of a better quality comparing to those who remained with the routine of Progress SS and Proton rocket. Once the team received the unfriendly environment with the necessity to operate under war in economy - they started to fail quite regularly.

We managed to stay independent for much longer period of time than any other european nation. And none of our neighbours has been a harmless kitten.

 

The manned ships, both by private contractors and NASA, are already in the pipeline. We just won't have the money to do much with them.

New Zealand is small Russia. Russia the huge country, I was in many corners of Russia, different climate and the unique nature there. In Zealand similar, but all nearby. From the warm sea to snow mountains, can to reach only for some hours' drive on car. From falls in the dense wood to chernozem fields - some minutes/hours. Geysers and lakes, beaches etc. in total nearby. But in Russia it too everything is. Simply travel take more time and means...
