During the playoffs we are back to hearing about the Hack-a-whoever can't make free throws. The games are drawn to a complete halt as purposeful fouls are made on guys who simply can't shoot free throws well enough to make it hurt the opposing team. The strategy works, but makes the games boring. So there is a lot of energy to change the rule. What I find funny is why don't more people call out pro players who can't make free throws. High School coaches can get their players to make free throws. What if coaches at the pro level figure out a way to get their players to actually focus on being better shooters. If it really is hurting the game create fines for terrible shootings before making it easier to be bad at shooting.

Here's an idea: What if the team that is fouled, has the option of just taking the ball out of bounds, with a new 24 sec., instead of shooting ft's? That wouldn't include "in the act of shooting" fouls & the last 2 minute rules would stay in effect. Just a thought.
