Why do we treat being drunk more legally acceptable than being high?

You realize that essentially a majority of the population said "(*)(*)(*)(*) you" many of them police etc? How do you propose a minority enforce its will upon a non-compliant majority? Magic fairy dust?

Marijuana possession catches mostly kids too dumb to drive the damn speed limit and keep it in a well sealed container so it doesn't stink up the car. We're not talking traffiking but simple possession under 2 OZ the lowest crime. How is simple possession and use that does not lead to another crime, wrong or worthy of legal sanction in your opinion?

What crimes did they commit? Rape = there's a law for that. Abuse = law for that. Murder = law for that. DUI= law for that. Sensing a pattern? Why is simple possession so abhorrant and what legal justification do you use?

ah ok. The prison wine special. Some guys in a tank I was in once whipped some up. Made the whole tank smell better actually (otherwise it smells like feet and poorly washed men. and sadness)

Drug dealers can sell drugs in 5 minutes. Fruit takes some time to grow before being refined into fruit juice, but that's beside the point.

Domestic violence often slips through the cracks of justice. I am not here to fight the war against, or even for potheads, I'm here to convince the majority of said hypocrisy, so they can come to their senses, and send their own dumb kids who affect society much worse than potheads to prison.

Domestic violence often goes unreported by the abused. <<< THAT is why it slips through the cracks.
More than that plenty of people drink responsibly and harm not a hair on anyone's head. You would attempt to put this large group of people in jail for.... what? Having fun all wrong? What CRIME did they commit? What is your LEGAL JUSTIFICATION?

I reported mine, but all they got was a verbal warning.

My legal justification is the same one that is already in place for other drugs.

"Plenty"? You understand that there are 325,000,000 people in this country, right?

Btw, my point wasn't about alcohol and rape. It was about using the teensie-weensie threat of rape by black men to criminalize marijuana.

With the right yeast (which I specified), it's not even prison wine, it's just wine.

That excuse worked, but stuff like that works on a racist society.

Unfortunately they won't listen when you expose them as hypocrites.

Nobody should be in prison for weed. Not for buying, not for selling, not for growing, not for transporting. If someone wants to catch a buzz or have a drink on their own private property, who am I to say they shouldn't?

I suspect you to be a troll, but....

We treat it that way because, currently, pot is illegal, and alcohol is legal.

The evil and destructive effects of prohibitions FAR OUTWEIGH (I mean, it's not even CLOSE) the adverse effects of the prohibited items. I mean, really.... We cannot even enumerate the murders and destruction that have been caused by the prohibition of marijuana or the atrocities that have been caused by the prohibition of prostitution.

Your appetite for revenge is not worth the cost of prohibition.

Why would people who are not ordinarily criminals turn to criminal means and support criminal methods over a drug?

Actually what happened was we banned alcohol and because we pushed the market to be dominated by the black market (making things illegal that have a demand = create a black market, therefore we now have weapons and prison involved in the economic system at that point) and lead to the rise of the Mafia. People forget a lot of the gangsters rose to power by dealing in alcohol. People were making bad batches in bathtubs of the stuff to try and get rich and would end up making poison because they didn't know what they were doing (no regulations in black market).

This is false and I get the feeing you are trying to spread African American propaganda. It had nothing to do with blacks, stop acting like everything is racist against black people.

If you have to know, it was just after the Mexican American war and an attempt at stemming immigration of MEXICANS.

Not everything is against blacks, although many try to make it so

It's hard to0 live down a reputation. Sometimes things are very hard to overcome, and sometimes people don't really understand where these kinds of things start or what6 the original reasons were for.

Yeah. Look at the BIG story behind marijuana and a lot more about why the things that happened 'around' it get a lot clearer.

Because in a capitalist, free-market society such as this, whenever there is a demand, someone will show up to supply that demand, regardless of legality. Really, all you're doing with prohibition is choosing who you want the suppliers to be.

You might want to do some research on the history of Marijuana, especially with the documentary Hooked: Illegal Drugs And how they Got That Way from the history channel on Marijuana. You can find it easily on you tube.

Also see Birth Of A Nation.
