lmao..They seem to have forgotten this one! http://www.ebay.com/itm/HILLARY-CLI...565?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1a01f226d5
I'm saving my confederate flags that I bought as a kid. Maybe they'll be worth a lot later on after the PC police start banning everything offensive.
Sorry but retailers responding to public demand are reacting to the free market. Now if this was government ordering by law that all retailers they can't sell the flag it would a whole different story. I didn't particularly like Hillary's tone in regards to the confederate flag, but that doesn't make your comments any less hyperbole.
This one is still up..Any idea why? http://www.ebay.com/itm/HILLARY-CLI...565?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1a01f226d5
You make the mistake in assuming I agree with eBay, I do not. I am fully aware when you try and "ban" something such as the confederate flag anywhere you are opening yourself up to high scrutiny when someone finds similar looking products on their sites. That still doesn't change the fact that the original posters comments were hyperbole and the retailers are responding to the free market.
So, in your mind, taking a flag that clearly represents racism off state government lands is that same as destroying irreplaceable artifacts? This isn't the original confederate flag that was first flown in battle or something. And no historical item is not being removed from a museum and burned, losing all knowledge or losing an irreplaceable item. This is taking a flag worth $20 that was made a couple of years ago off a pole. Talk about being overly dramatic and delusional...
What doesn't represent racism in the New America? The American flag has stars on it, which contain the states that were in the confederacy at one point. That means the American flag is racist. Ban it!
Freedom of speech huh, I guess the only thing being protected is speech that vilifies white, straight, and religious people.
Not refusing this one..Any idea why? http://www.ebay.com/itm/HILLARY-CLI...565?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1a01f226d5
Wrong. They're afraid of loosing customers over this, the only thing these people care about is money, brand and image. I'm completely sure if one wants to find this flag image on merchandise they can still go to the local neo-nazi outlet. Get themselves a big 'ol belt-buckle.
what public demand I didn't hear of any protest against eBay or amazon they removed the confederate flags off their shelf from extortion tactics used by leftist shake down artist groups like the NAACP or GLAD do what we demand or we will label you a racist or homophobe we will sick the liberal media on you asking do you support racism if you don't it is no different then what the mafia use to do to businesses do what we demand or you might suffer an unfortunate accident
responding to a free market would be stopping selling an item because no one is buying that item they are responding to extortion
More BS, they are doing so because they don't want bad PR and are responding to the free market. Do you get upset over people boycotting stores for saying "Happy Holidays" instead of Merry Christmas?
Businesses choosing to stop selling an antique and thankfully obsolete flag are not akin to the Holocaust. Silly me I thought that might go without saying.
No responding to the free market is stopping selling an item that has negative PR associated with it. That isn't extortion. Do you have anything else to whine about?
yes bad PR directed at them from those liberal shake down artist groups, paid protesters and the liberal media pushing an agenda
Shakedowns? Gimme a break, it was simply a PR move on the companies part. This has happened since the dawn of the free markets.
So you have evidence these threats were made? And you think that these companies would just roll over and loose profits on popular items because of the threats? Why doesn't the Klu Klux Klan or the Skin Heads or other racist organizations go to Walmart and make demands they keep these goods or they will demand a boycott..... Or maybe the reason is that the Confederate flag is racist and now that it is being discussed for what it really is, these stores don't want to be associated with it. My guess is that in a year, when this blows over, they will again sell some confederate flag stuff, just like I am told you can buy Nazi stuff on ebay. The fact of the matter is that the confederate flag is a symbol of racism and slavery. That is just the fact.. When South Carolina seceded from the union, they explicitly wrote: You can claim the war was about states right, but it only mentions one right, the right to hold slaves. And it mentions slavery and hostility to slavery and a union of slaveholding states. To say the civil was was anything but a war about fighting to continue slavery is blind revisionist BS. And to say the confederate flag is anything but a symbol of this desire to enslave blacks is just delusional... But if you want to fly a symbol of racist hatred and slavery on your house or put a sticker on your truck, go ahead. No one is stopping you. It just won't be bought from a few stores who have decided not to carry such merchandise.
So let's just admit that they didn't do what they said. As a matter of fact all sorts of Confederate flag merch is still there. They lied. http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fro...te+flags.TRS0&_nkw=confederate+flags&_sacat=0
