Well guess what, domestic operations create an atmosphere of distrust that is palpable to our citizens.

Why should America keep funding an army if it's being used against its own citizens?

You're right. Obama is the Fool-in-Chief.

There's thousands of years of evidence that the federal government wants to take over one of its own states? Oh, do tell.

When did Patrick Henry say the US wants to take over Texas?

Yeah, I though the troops were supposed to be viewed as heroes? I guess in Texas they're looked on as oppressors?

Total BS. Again, sixty miles east from here is the Top Gun facility. Ninety miles south is the Mountain Warfare facility. Seventy miles southeast is an ammo dump. Not only is there no atmosphere of distrust, the military is welcomed and catered to by the communities of Fallon, Topaz and Hawthorne. Those are only three. There are dozens of such operations around the country. Only in Texas do we see paranoia on the loose.

true, it is an easy position to understand it is just that given the facts not at all warranted and deeply paranoid.

You thought right, until you started thinking wrong. Texans, for the most part are very military friendly. Despite your attempt to make it so, the issue here is not with the troops. Misguided as these folks are, their issue is with the government, not the troops.

No, they all "know" that the concentration camps are operated by FEMA!

Just the very fact that there are people on this thread earnestly defending this parochial paranoia serves as an example of the extemism and paranoia of the far right.

Free speech is a wonderful and marvelously aggravating thing to those of us who aren't paranoid, deluded or stupid.

A gaggle of conservative conspiracy loons. They have to "keep an eye" on what the spec ops troops are doing. LOL They're training and not trying to take over the southwest. The southwestern United States were taken over over 100 years ago by the United States. People can be so stupid as to think this is a move by the military against civilians.

This reminds me of when I was in Oakland when Operation Urban Warrior happened in the 1990's. You had the militia movement in full swing and we had the conspiracy loons talking about how they were going to take over Oakland and brutalize the citizenry. Well I was in Oakland and all we saw were a few helicopter gunships flying over and that was about it. They had staged protests as part of the exercise and the conspiracy loonies thought they were real. They had simulated injuries and the conspiracy loonies said they were real. You can't trust these conservative conspiracy loons, they are not playing with full decks.

Name one time in the last century that a stateside military exercise was actually used to harm, imprison and/or kill people.

Trying to talk rationally about this issue to conspiracy people is futility in itself. They have no evidence that a military exercise by the US military was used to take over any part of the USA. These are the same as the militia movement people of the 1990s. They said the same thing about exercises then. However the main difference is back then they were running around with guns playing soldier. A few of them became terrorists. One group tried to sneak onto a military base and blow up captured Russian tanks. They believed the tanks were being kept there for soon-to-be-invading UN and Russian troops. Thankfully today most paranoid militia types just sit around and talk about it on the Internet rather than playing soldier like militia fad of the 90s.

I suppose the whoop-whoop-group thinks Jade Helm is actually run by Hispanic, islamo-fascist, illegal alien armadillos who (which?) hate our way or life. There's only one thing that will save, if not America, then Texas. Give Sarah Palin, "Batty" Bachman, Ted Cruz, and Donald Trump's hair full field packs, automatic weapons, and body armour and parachute them into the exercise area. Of course, Palin will quit before she gets there, Bachman will not be able to find Texas, Cruz will filibuster himself into the nearest ICU & Donny-boys hair will be arrested before arrival for illegal impersonation of a road kill.

Sane Texans, if any and on the other hand, will race to the exercise area, set up fast food stands and tubs of cold beer (I've been in Texas in July), and make a mint.

Perhaps when one doesn't call for the end of free speech, doesn't get one's nose out of joint when confronted with political incorrectness, doesn't see a commie/terrorist/illegal under every bed and accepts facts for what they are regardless of one's emotional or intellectual perspective.

They aren't. They are suspicious of the governments activity. It has nothing to do with their sentiments toward the troops.
