I wasn't using that to claim he was crazy, just that he had a political bias. His own posts on here however, some of those, in retrospect make him sound crazy.

I sincerely believe a lot, if not most, racial animosity has roots within the white conservatives, on line at least. Yes, everyone is racist to one degree or another, but by far, white male conservatives are the most vocal and virulent racists online, bar none.

 

Perhaps that's true for this individual, I'll take your word for it, and it really doesn't matter if you're right or wrong. Nonetheless, we HAVE seen examples of people who live into their 50's, or beyond, as peaceful, law-abiding citizens who just decide one day, out of the blue and for no specific purpose, to start taking pot shots at random strangers. That makes no sense to me.

 

People tend to get a little... crotchety with old age. They're also usually on enough pills to kill a horse (some having pretty bad sideeffects). The mind starts to go as well. Perfect storm or undiagnosed mental condition? Senior rage syndrome or something?

 

Got me. I'm not a neurologist nor a psychiatrist so I couldn't speak with any authority whatsoever to your hypothesis.

 

Just so we're clear, you're generalizing a group of people (a race). White conservatives are mostly 'virulent racists'. So you grouped an entire race and unit into another generalization. What you've made is a bigoted assumption.

Then surely we do well to question the value of reacting angrily to such accusations.

 

He complained about taxes, people who were unwilling to work for a living, hated liberals, thought the US was becoming a collapsing cesspit of immorality that had lost focus on God. He appeared on conservative talk shows and was a self proclaimed tea party member. He even tweeted support of Westborough Baptist. He was most assuredly on the Right. Not trying to say or even imply that everyone who believes in God, owns guns, and dislikes taxes is an extremist, but this guy definitely seems to have been.

I made that post before reading further, thinking that someone truly on the Right wouldn't do it. Knowing that it's a Liberal wet dream/conspiracy theory that everyone who believes in a lower government/balanced budget is some kind of Mcveigh waiting to happen. Hell, what else have Liberals been rooting for the past couple of years?

But given his general low post count(Well, peeps are starting new everyday, but still), I'd say he wasn't even anywhere close to being a regular, nor influenced by our or any views. I applaud the steps PF is taking to being open about this, since we have nothing to hide. Diverse political community? Yes. Tolerating violent views? Nope, and we'll show the world this is the best political forum to be at.

 

I completely agree. We are all here because we are interested in politics and want what is best for our country. We may have very different beliefs as to what that means and how to go about it, and sometimes those debates get very passionate, but at the end of the day we are just differing view points on the same team and I don't believe any of us would condone or support this sort of senseless violence.

A member here just went postal and killed some people so I'm pretty sure the world already has a keen idea as to what kind of political site this is.

John Russell Houser last activity on the PF was in 2013 I believe.

 

I have told multiple members on this forum who have PURPOSELY insulted or purposely antagonized other members that to do so is not only really stupid but as well since they have absolutely no idea who it is they are doing something like that to that it is possibly dangerous.

I was not refering to this person but I was trying to explain to them that I am aware of certain former members of Special Operatons who have been declared Medically Inactive to to their emotional state caused by the trauma they have experienced operating in the field.

I tried to explain that such people are trained upon levels that most people could neither understand or believe and that such capable in the extreme people might take what to another member seems like a verbal barb to be something that now mentally unbalanced former Special Operations Member would consider to be something they could not allow to be forgotten and something they felt required a reaction from them to settle a score their mind has determined exists.

This topic simply shows those and other members I hope a LESSON TO BE LEARNED.

That lesson being....IT IS NEVER A SMART IDEA TO PURPOSELY INSULT ANOTHER MEMBER WHO YOU HAVE NO IDEA AS FAR AS WHAT THEY ARE AND WHAT THEY DO OR HAVE DONE!!!

Hopefully some members will get the point I have been trying to get across to them.

I for one do see what you mean, though. There are definitely some rabid white racists to be found online. There are forums and websites dedicated to that; there's even a white supremacist religion: creativitymovement.net

I see racism as a part of tribalism, an entirely natural instinct by which people segregate themselves into groups according to visible criteria. It's why a black is more likely to view a fellow black as "kin" and a white the same with regards to a fellow white person. The question is why anybody thinks it's acceptable to act on such an impulse and become an overt racist in word and deed...

 

Besides the fictitious Rambo, I don't think Tier 1 and Teir 2 assests have had much of a history going postal---in fact, their mental toughness on average is far and away superior to the typical person.

I think all of the regular members here have pretty thick skins, and those like Randy who can't keep it together, won't stay long.

Even though I was just regular Army in the past, I briefly went to the SF "Quiet Professionals" forum---and so many of them were bigger ***holes than most of the posters here----and were very easily offended.

It seems to me somehow rather obvious,.... that any forum got plenty of fanatics and extremists.
It is not as the guy next door or random people at some pub are likely to agree with his fanaticism.
But on the internet, sitting on your compfy chair...
