I read a lot of threads on here from the right complaining about President Obama and that he hasn't done enough to get America out of the rut he inherited. From what I've read, on Obama's inauration day in 2009 about 15 of the top GOP leaders in Washington DC were already plotting his demise, by working against him and doing everything they could to make him a one term President, even if it meant slowing down the economic recovery from the recession we were in and getting Americans back to work. Sure! Obama had a Democratic majority in congress when he took office, but it takes just a few Republicans to gum up the works and make it almost impossible to accomplish anything by fillerbustering every piece of legislation and playing Party politics to try and guarantee that your party wins back the White House in 2012. If this is all true and I do know that that Republicans used that Fillerbuster move at a record pace during Obama's first 4 years and this was all plotted out, before he actually had one day in the Oval office yet, is it any wonder why us Liberals are bitter at the GOP for making Americans suffer longer then they had to for political gain. To me, it almost looks like Treason, because it's not the job of the opposing party to just say, WELL! were pissed that we lost the election for the Presidency, so now were just going make things as bad as possible, so that in 4 years Amercans will blame it on the President and they'll vote him out. Shouldn't the goal of our Government be to continually strive to better things in America regardless of what Party is in charge instead of artificially trying to sabotage a President for Political gain and their own personal greed. Obamanomics resulted in less than 2% mean growth since he took office. Reaganomics resulted in about 4% mean growth from the time he took office till he left.

So I will ask again, name one thing that the republicans did to purposefully harm Obama's presidency. Should be a rather simple thing for you to find out since you guys are accusing the republicans of doing this for his whole first term. I will wait.
Purposely harm Barack Obama's Presidency, that's an easy one and it's already been answered and was the subject of this Thread. Do you want specifics or just the fact that the GOP used a record amount of Fillerbusters against Barack Obama to try and slow progress in this country. If you want a specific issue, let's start with the fact that this country was bleeding jobs well into Barck Obama's first term, because of GW Bush's recession and there are countless examples of Infrastructure in this country that is falling apart from years of neglect. Barack Obama was trying to get funding to put Americans back to work and fix these Bridges and Roads and Rail Road tracks and whatever else and make them safe and up to date, BUT! doing this would make Obama look good, which went against their One term President strategy. Here's another one, The car industry in this country was on life support during the Recession and it has been an Icon of American industrialism for a long time. Millions of Americans within that Industry and Millions of others that rely on them to have a Job for their own businesses were in jeapardy of losing their careers and the Republicans were content to just let it happen, because they knew if it did, it would be a huge Blemish on Barack Obama's Presidency, whereas Obama went on to save that industry and now the American Car industry is back. Even Flip Flopney tried to take credit for it.

Well! if you don't think putting Americans back to work on something that is definately an issue in this Country is a good idea, I don't know what to tell you. Yes! I think the GOP did know that it would be good for the Country to get Millions of Americans back to work, but they also knew that the American voters would look at all these new jobs as a Positive thing for Obama and would go against their Strategy to get him out of office in 4 years.
The graphs would look exactly the same, since the stimulus bill passed Congress anyway. Obama had carte blanche for the first two years of his Presidency. Republicans were not able to stop anything. So he got what he wanted, probably he got more of what he wanted than any President since Johnson. So Obama should own the results.

The fact that the world did not financially fall apart in 2008/2009 is enough to call someone a good President. The only way to reign in the Republicans is for 40 years of Democratic Presidents.
