Right-wing or left-wing propaganda, propaganda is propaganda (information war)
The peace information is replaced by war information in a lot of people's minds.
How many people can think for themselves (think different) without using information that came from the media or politics over the past fifteen years? Could be less than half of the adult US population today. That is what happens after fifteen years watching tv and follow the media. Society is 'ill' (information 'illness'), it lost it's own unique information (it is still inside your mind, deep down) How to dig it up again while your mind is constantly bombarded with information (tv, media, news online, billboards)

They've hit the limit, some time ago.

It's like a recipe and a bad cook:

They are making the error of imagining that too much more of some spicy ingredient that worked before, is all they need to use.

Well, the GOP is actually in the process of 'degrading' itself daily. A quick look at the Republican Platform of just a few decades ago, shows how FAR from the most beneficial form of American "Conservatism" they have actually wandered. This ludicrousness they are exhibiting today, is crazy (and in some ways, un-American by comparison).

So, more than breaking some "record"... they are pushing things beyond their tolerances; redlining their political machine.

We're ALL 'human', so it's not as though one party or the other has perfection loaded in its political quiver... it's that RIGHT NOW (in this particular era), the GOP is the party in the most dire need of reform WITHIN ITSELF. It is 'flawed' beyond reasonable 'limits'; ugly and becoming uglier.

The DNC has its problems (human being run that too), but they are generally less troubled as a group. Fewer 'extremes' are being exhibited on a frequent basis.

Your view, is more like an example of what's wrong with the GOP. That 'bubble' many are residing in, leads the to extreme views and conclusions. It's becoming more obvious with each day.

That depends. If I lived in Iran, I would probably be hostile, since Iran is a totalitarian state. If I could examine it from an objective point of view, I would not be hostile, since the Shah was a lamb compared to the regime that replaced him.

Reality often appears extreme to those who refuse to deal with what is rather than what they wish to be.

Because many people don't know what they're talking about. The notion that Mossadegh was a "shining example of democracy" is one of them:

Iran: The Truth about the CIA and the Shah
    http://www.nationalreview.com/article/421595/what-really-happened-shahs-iran

The Myth of an American Coup
    http://www.cfr.org/iran/myth-american-coup/p30900

Another question is why do people presume that the Islamists wouldn't have seized power if it weren't for Mossadegh's downfall? Obviously, they aren't aware of the power that the ulema wielded back then. The ayatollahs just sprang out of the ground in 1979!

No the Shah wasn't a lamb unless you were in his elite circle.. The SAVAK were very much like the Gestapo.

Well, if the objective was to prevent Iran from getting the bomb, diplomacy failed. Hint: slowing it down is not "preventing".

Here is a famous American politician PROMISING to keep Iran from getting the bomb and that all avenues are open to keep that from happening: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kos4VDQlRRk 28 times that specific goal was re-iterated. It seems this fool's definition of a diplomatic solution is "SURRENDER".

Here is this famous American: Neville Obama. Appeasement didn't prevent war in 1938. It won't in 2015.

Sorry, the GOP is about their own extremes, intransigence and abject sensationalism.

I understand what you are suggesting; but I think the GOP has gone WAY overboard... especially since Barack Obama was elected (Black).

The CFR piece on the Mosadeeg deserves its own thread.. What I do find curious it that there is NO mention of just how dramatically the Brits were screwing Iran on oil revenues when every other oil producing country was getting a 50-50 split.

Yeah, we saw that at the Nutroots convention recently. :roflol:

    "All lives matter!"
    "BOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :psychoitc:

And we'll ignore the fact that extremists such as the man who launched his political career in the living room of an unrepentant communist terrorist haven't taken over the Democratic Party and are working to "fundamentally transform the United States of America".

What could possibly be more "moderate" than that nihilistic rhetoric and agenda?

I left the Democratic party precisely because to many extremes are exhibited in a frequent basis. The OccuTard lunatics are now running the asylum...

Thanks. That might be worth doing...

No kidding. I think the Iranians were getting something like 16% of revenues, while just across the Persian Gulf the Saudis and Americans were splitting them in half.

I've always felt that the Brits had more to do with Mossadegh's downfall than the U.S., too...

No... they were getting 6 cents on the dollar.. After the Shah was reinstated and the Mosadeeg deposed.. they upped it to 13 cents on the dollar.

He's a pandering jerk and many think so...

I'm Jewish and I resent Huckleberry invoking the Holocaust for political gain.

Maybe he and the other Evangelicals should stop pretending they are defending Jews when we all know that they are just concerned about preserving the Israeli real estate so that they can have their Rapture occur unimpeded. Huckabee and his ilk believe that the Jews are going to hell anyway if they do not accept Jesus. What a grifter!

If SAVAK was like the Gestapo, then the current secret police are like the Khmer Rouge.

The Republican Party spent decades cultivating a voter base convinced that racism, bigotry, hatred of non-Christians, and religious extremism are virtues.

The Republicans, whether it be office holders or members of the rank-and-file, demand respect for the office of the President. But, only when it is their man sitting in the White House. Like Obama, the Democrat Clinton faced GOP obstructionism during his two terms, but not the disrespect Republicans have shown Obama since he was first elected.

No one ever shouted "You lie!" during a "State of the Union Address" by a Republican President, and both Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush were two of the biggest liars ever to occupy the White House.

The Republicans' and Teapublicans' open disrespect for an African-American President has really exposed the conservatives and neoconservatives for the shameless racists they truly are. Of course, the right wing denial of this is seen every day on these message boards, but then, conservative/neoconservative denial of facts has become expected.

Despite their denial, Donald Trump's skyrocketing popularity is proving, to be a successful conservative/neoconservative candidate, racism sells. This is the attitude the Old White Men of the GOP have instilled in their right wing base, and now it is coming back to bite them in the a**. While the rest of the GOP's 2016 pack are more subdued in their racist rhetoric, they remain at about the same level on the political BS meter, speaking for hours on end but committing to nothing.

In the end, whoever becomes the Republican Presidential candidate will strictly follow the same old right wing agenda, serve the fat cats, and screw everybody else.
