I don't know why we don't have a poll of our members yet, or did I miss it? Well let's do an updated one. We should have one every month. So let's do this. Who would you vote for to be the GOP nominee? Bush Carson Christie Cruz Huckabee Kasich Paul Rubio Trump Walker
Before the debates I will stick with my original pick Chris Christie. I feel he is conservative enough, and has a track record of working cross party lines. Walker in my opinion is Professional politician, but might swing in his favor depending on debate performance. Otherwise third option is Rubio.
Nobody want to make their vote before the debate or is everyone undecided? I picked Cruz, but may be changing to Trump next month.
I picked Trump..... if Dannion Brinkley likes him that is good enough for me! http://www.politicalforum.com/elect...on-brinkley-v-p-2016-presiden-usa-2024-a.html Dannion Brinkley for V. P. in 2016 and President of the USA in 2024. Two time near death experiencer Dannion Brinkley has no idea that I am doing this….. but I do believe that when he eventually reads this discussion he will at the minimum seriously consider my offer. I believe that his Twilight Brigade is one of the most seriously cool charities that has recently been created in the United States. http://www.dannion.com/the-twilight-brigade/ The Twilight Brigade A pretty major motion picture about his life was produced starring Eric Roberts. ........(post #4).....Dannion Brinkley:..."Go for it......Me and the Donald.....funny…." https://www.facebook.com/groups/448...22/?comment_id=10152929043165222¬if_t=like Dannion Brinkley (Public Group)
Wow..... the results from this poll so far are pretty amazing!!!! Bush 1.........7.14% Carson 0......0% Christie 2......14.29% Cruz 1.............7.14% Huckabee 0.....0% Kasich 0...........0% Paul 2..............14.29% Rubio 0..............0% Trump 7.............50.00% Walker 1.............7.14%
This is the first I saw of this poll. This far out I really do not know whom I would pick and am not even certain I will vote in the Republican primary in Georgia. Georgia has an open primary and we just register to vote, not by party. I though about Kasich and Rubio, but I want a governor, someone who has govern and worked with a legislature to get things done, not another first time senator. So I voted for Kasich. I thought about Walker, but Kasich is from a state the GOP must win next year or lose the white house. That was enough for me to choose him over Walker.
I got the following comment back regarding The Donald through Facebook. Faith was very active back in 2012 on behalf of Mr. Romney so to see that she will be for The Donald even if Mitt enters the race...... is interesting?! http://www.boston.com/news/nation/2...ident-again/lPITCtXT89Tq3mzn0RAJUJ/story.html Why Does Drudge Think Romney May Run for President Again?
To each his own. We're five months away from the first votes being cast in the Iowa caucuses. One of the reasons some people in these polls pick whom they do is based on name recognition. 90% of America never heard of a Bobby Jindal or before the GOP debate, Fiornia and a few others. Most have heard of Christie, Trump, Bush and on the other side Hillary. Just let things take their course. I must say this is the interesting nomination going on this far out that I have ever seen and I became interested in politics watching the Democratic and Republican conventions on TV back in 1956. Relax and enjoy, it is entertaining.
I went for Paul, he is the only one who seems to have some semblance of respect for individual rights and freedoms. He is definitely the only fiscal conservative of the bunch. He one of the only ones who is not a Washington insider/ supporter of the current Oligopoly fused Bureaucracy.
Most of us are intelligent not to believe the lefts lies about Trump. We need someone in there that will break the mold.
... and do not for a moment suspect that we aren't aware of the "the left's" promoting The Great Flatu to achieve their nefarious objectives! !, Piyush Jindal, Carly Fiorina, Ricky Perry, Lindsey Graham, Benny Carson, Randy Paul, etc., etc., etc., are part of a vast leftist conspiracy to make the reality tv celebrity political virgin appear crass, pandering to the party's nativist dregs, and devoid of any actual, coherent legislative agenda. In other word's, the Angry White Guy's messiah. Those ubiquitous dastards!
Between these candidates, I would vote for Kasich. For the same reason I would vote for Clinton over Sanders. Kasich is one of the few candidates in the pool that seems to look at our country's issues in an even close to realistic light. To quote from the latest CNBC debate: "I'm the only one on this stage that has a plan that would create jobs, cut taxes, balance the budget, and can get it done because I'm realistic. You just don't make promises like this. Why don't we just give a chicken in every pot while we're coming up with these fantasy tax gains? We'll just clean it up."(1) I think he's exactly right. Nobody ever gets the ability to just craft some master solution to all of our problems. In that sense, I feel the questions that came up during that debate were very legitimate. Kasich seems to recognize that you need to work with people even if you disagree with them. Policy over ideology. 1 - http://www.cnbc.com/2015/10/29/cnbc...he-republican-presidential-debate-part-2.html
A valid point. Dealing effectively with reality is undervalued. Many ideological zealots act as if they are electing an omnipotent monarch rather than someone who can confront the exigencies of a democratic republic.
