A football stadium isn't government property.

And no one objects to prayer at private football games only in public schools

My kid's school has a private bible study room in an after school program. No one objects.

It's not upsetting, it's sad and occasionally frustrating.

We cannot derive realistic conclusions about reality if we do not accept reality.

As it turns out, I was not accurate in how I worded my post. Moses does not appear to be listed as a Founding Father, rather the influence of Moses and other biblical figures is portrayed as having a relation to secular American government. I will admit that's not quite the same and not nearly as upsetting.

    We don't.

We get upset when you brainwash innocent children with your rubbish and consider it a form of child abuse

If you followed the words spoken by Jesus: When you pray go into your closets. Do not stand in the streets and pray like the hypocrites; no one would know you were praying and you wouldn't have to pretend to be a victim of religious discrimination.

I seriously doubt that most atheists "get so upset" when someone prays to whatever god or gods they might fancy.

Why do you think they do?

Exactly ... who makes a spectacle of themselves when they pray.. and who announces to the public that they pray to God?

Competing for victim status seems to be all too prevalent these days.

Of course they do. They wear at least one crucifix, which is always in view, office workers have little christian trinkets all over their desk and of course stickers on the rear window or bumper of their cars, and crucifixes hanging from the rear view mirror. And for the discrete, a little fish icon.

"Look at me everyone, I'm a christian"

Well, most non-Catholic Christians I know don't have anything to do with crucifixes. (Crucifexes are a Catholic thing). I don't wear a crucifix (I'm Catholic), but I'm pretty religious. I also see almost as many of the FSM fish, and fish with feet as I do Christian fish.

This is where you're wrong. For every person in my social environment who advertises his faith or non-faith I know twenty who don't. People I have known for years without any idea what they believe in, even family members.

Atheists generally don't give two hoots who you pray to. What gets up their kilts is religious folk trying to ram their religion down their throats.

I'm non religious by the way.

Atheists don't pay good money to see a bunch religious people hedge their bets with their god on the outcome of the game. Why don't they pray in the dressing rooms or are these prayers just for show?

Who gets upset by your praying, exactly?

You're making some pretty baseless assumptions.

Strawman. This is not your argument. Your OP stated that atheists "get upset" when you pray to your gods, implying a private act. Now you are moving the goalposts by changing your argument to government-endorsed religious sanction. So what is your real argument here? Not very 'logical' considering your screen name....

Fine. Let's switch the pre-game prayer from the Christian gods to Allah. You'd be fine with this.

You miss the point entirely. The tacit endorsement of religion has no place in our public institutions. Keep your religion confined to your private affairs and no one will bat an eye. Start injecting it into our laws and people will rightfully push back. It is awfully arrogant lof you to think it is OK to impose your religion on others.
