http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/polit...-may-leave-three-behind/ar-BBmFFL5?li=BBgzzfc He still does not know where to go and what to do in the "world leadership". He inherited problems created by G. W. Bush, but he also inherited typical for American politicians ignorance in international affairs.
All Presidents inherent problems of their predecessor. I think the difference with Obama is he is the first President (at least in my lifetime) who felt he could wash his hands of the entire state of the world before he was inaugurated and start fresh. Of course the world stubbornly refused to cooperate (due to racism no doubt). As far as his knowledge base goes, he has the typical prejudices of the world as any other faculty lounge professor; the US is a destructive force in the world that introduces instability, and with it's influence removed, the world will be just fine.
Those of us who bothered to look into Barry's past knew he was an empty shirt with a chip on his shoulder, but the entitlement class and their equally greedy, socialist-loving supporters chose to take the teflon man as their leader. 7 years later, and he and his supporters are still blaming Bush. Face it, Obama is a loser who KNOWS he's a loser. Let's just hope he doesn't do anything more stupid than his past debacles before he's flushed from the White House. Foreign policy never was his game, as we witnessed from his apology tour where he bowed to his superiors in the motherland of Islam.
the US should not go where it is not invited by that government... for example... in the middle east, the countries that want to battle terrorism, can invite us to play a support role... while they amass their troops, to push forward, we will be behind them, creating a supply line to push things they need forward, but we will not actively seek out and destroy the terrorists in their country, that is their job... once that country enters a city, and rids it of terrorists who fall back to other positions... we will circle that city, staying outside the city limits, to keep traffic from coming and going... meanwhile they can regroup their forces, and push forward to another destination... and we once again will keep the supply lines open so they can sustain the front line, and should there ever be a need to fall back, we can supply the overwhelming force they need to stop anyone from advancing on them as they regroup... but under no circumstances do we enter their cities or push forward for them... their forces can push forward, and their police forces can manage cities once they take them back... that should be the role of america in the world... but we don't need bases in every country to be permanent... sure we should have some strategic spots... one on each continent would suffice for emergency responses, anything else will require a lot more effort and time anyhow to put folks into place... and we can literally build an airstrip and base in a weekend... we've done it before we can do it again... we don't need to sustain these wastes of money all over the world to police the world... if countries have internal troubles, their people need to revolt and take back power... its not our job to fight their revolutions and civil wars... we can mediate from the benches and offer humanitarian relief... but we shouldn't support conflicts of either side, thats not our job... we had our civil war, we don't need to fight someone elses... this would help reduce our military budget significantly, it would change world image of america being terrorists, and it would ensure we stop losing soldiers in someone elses fight... and we'd stop screwing things up as a result when one of those groups we pushed, turns on us or others... plenty of examples we should be red faced from... so ultimately, they fight, we support... should we encounter another world war... it won't matter how many bases or installations we have worldwide, a single bomb can wipe that out before we have time to utilize it... so why bother fighting wars the way we did in the past, it no longer works that way... sadly neither side will ever come to this conclusion... they want either more or less... they don't seem to feel a comfortable balance can be struck... always ready for the worst, or we shouldn't have the power to help anyone... I just don't understand people in my own country...
Obama doesn't give a rat's ass about anything other than income redistribution. He's a Bolshevik. Foreign affairs bores him.
The President is going by the advice given to him by the leaders in the Pentagon. When he was campaigning in 2008, he said he was going to end the war. When he was sworn in, most likely the Pentagon rushed up to him and told him that he can't end the war. I don't know what the reasons were but he must have been told something crucial that made him change his original stand.
Indeed are you saying you would like it expanded? Kept at some level? Perhaps there's somewhere you'd like to bomb or occupy. Do tell us.
Quite a lot happened. Arab spring etc. Iraq government failure etc. But he has withdrawn most troops. - - - Updated - - - In fact he's a winner. Your version of winning depends on other people and their blood and treasure. Missiles and troops etc
He's such a loser the politically correct crowd refuse to even give him a "participation award." Only the blind, deaf and those in denial feel that he is a winner...oh, and those benefiting from his largess with the entitlement/loser class in this country.
..and with that information he began his systematic destruction of the military, by forcing out any commander with balls & brains, and replacing them with lapdogs that will do his bidding. The Pentagon never rushed up to this loser, but they probably rolled their eyes at the stupidity of the voters who put this loser with no background in anything besides division, into the most powerful seat in the world.
Total bs post. He has won in most areas. I don't need to deny it. I can back it up. He has remained consistently popular among American people
I guess it's because of what he's told by the Pentagon; trouble with that is the Pentagon hierarchy is as dysfunctional as our MoD.
When the local repair shop hires a handsome junior mechanic with little experience to fix your car(s), you end up with broken cars. When this jr. mechanic takes it a step worst and refuses to listen to more experienced mechanics, it becomes even worst...... That is the explanation of Obama. A junior senator with no real experience who was hired because of the color of his skin....
Of course you would say that. You love Barack Hussein Obama, Hildabeast Klinton and all the rest of the socialists. Your response was expected, and you delivered. Now, go put your head back in the sand.
Obama has gutted the military intelligentsia and replaced them with people who look, think & act like him. So, that being said, you're saying he has done a pi$$ poor job of putting smart people in places of leadership, right? - - - Updated - - - Go ahead and back it up. I, and others, would like to see your research.
It is obviously shrinking, painfully, because our presidents continue the "world leadership" mentality established after victorious end of WWII.
The world was a much more stable place when the US and Russia divided the world between themselves and kept all the more radical countries under control. The seeds of the current world disorder were sowed when Russia power was emasculated.
The military demonstrated it's total ineptitude in Iraq and Afganistan and even as far back as Vietnam. A top heavy inept established military burocracy is nothing new.
