I am not particularly hopeful these talks will achieve anything, since the main purpose of the Syrian civil war for those fueling it such as the Saudis, is to weaken Syria's alliance with Iran and to have a regime in Syria that is no longer part of axis of resistance. That is indeed why they had previously made such a fuss about Iran being invited and why they are still singing the same tune.

It makes sense. Iran along with Russia are supporting Assad. Iran is also supporting and helping the present government in Iraq. ISIS is an enemy to Russia, Iran and the U.S. All I can say is good luck.

They are probably discussing about how they will split up the gass deal. America has sent special forces into Syria to be used as human shields for russian bombers. America knows russia will not bomb those special forces.

So the situation is at a standstill between russia and US. Iran has been invited because many muslims look unto them. So their invitation in this was just a politically correct thing to do.

Looks like agreement on what do do with Syria will be reached soon.

Should be unanimous. Everyone should help in putting ISIS down. The quicker the better in my opinion.

The decision to include Iran in the decision making process concerning Syria's future is a refreshingly rare example of intelligent “Realpolitik” (1) and a constructive contribution resulting from Russia's involvement in Assad's struggle against al Nusra, ISIS & their backers.

The chaos in Syria is not a "Civil War. It appears, now, to be a thwarted Regime Change thanks to Russia's involvement.

Because Iran has significant influence in the Region, knows its "Players" & is strongly motivated in preventing its disastrous dismantling, its inclusion can only help avert its bloody Balkanization.

Facing up to: "...considerations of power and on practical and material factors, ...."(1) is, finally, an encouraging development.

    (1) “Realpolitik”

EXCERPT “Realpolitik is politics or diplomacy based primarily on considerations of power and on practical and material factors, rather than explicit ideological notions or moral or ethical premises.”CONTINUED
