Sorry. Diplomatic compound that's considered US soil.

    Sounds like an embassy....

No, it's wasn't am embassy, nor even a consulate.

And even if it were (which it wasn't) -- you are wrong about being considered "U.S. Soil."

"There is a common misconception that Embassies and Consulates have extraterritoriality. As anecdotal evidence of this misconception, people will often say things like, “the US Embassy sits upon United States soil.” For the most part, this is not the case as extraterritoriality is not conferred upon an Embassy or Consulate, but in some situations extraterritoriality may be created by Treaty. So in the Benghazi case, you're saying the law cites that this compound did not fall under US soil? I see your point about extraterritoriality but I don't see anything about that actual compound not serving as US soil. I'm happy to admit I'm wrong if you could show me that.

Where Stevens was killed was a U.S. Consulate, so try again.

    No, it wasn't.

There was no US consulate in Benghazi. Ever.

    Do you know anything?

Geezuz Christ, people. This was a CIA operation. Get that.

    From the Accountability Review Board:

    UNCLASSIFIED:

"In December 2011, the Under Secretary for Management approved a one - year continuation of the U.S. Special Mission in Benghazi, which was never a consulate and never formally notified to the Libyan government. Steven arrived in Tripoli on May 26, 2012 to replace Cretz as Ambassador."

Lady Ga Ga and Ben Affleck had Hillary's email address. Christopher Stephens didn't.

Maybe Stevens told Hillary he would expose the gun running to Al Queda like they did with the KLA, so poor ole Stevens got Fostered.

    Oh I do...don't you?

Why would Stephens, who Clinton personally appointed and who she claimed was a good friend, not have her email address? Is Lady Ga Ga a more valuable asset to foreign policy and national security than our ambassadors?

60 people died in those and hardly a peep out of you guys over them

the answer is because this is a politically motivated smear

Let the Factchecker, 'splain it to you:
[h=3]Fact Check: Do ambassadors e-mail the secretary of state?[/h]

    • Glenn Kessler

THE FACT CHECKER | Republicans on the Benghazi Committee have repeatedly questioned why Sidney Blumenthal, a personal friend of former secretary of state Hillary Rodham Clinton, had her private e-mail address while Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens did not. While one can certainly question Clinton’s judgment in paying attention to Blumenthal’s musings, there is a simple reason that an ambassador would not have the secretary of state’s private e-mail address.

It’s called the chain of command.

With nearly 200 ambassadors in the field, it would invite chaos if each could directly write the secretary of state.

Instead, ambassadors and other diplomats send reporting cables, which in turn are examined and processed by various levels of the State Department. If it’s an urgent matter, presumably it would come to the secretary’s attention. But many issues — by necessity in a 70,000-person organization — would be handled far below the secretary’s level.

For instance, take a look at some of the e-mails sent by Stevens that have been examined by congressional committees. On June 13, 2012, Stevens had an e-mail exchange with State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland about the department’s public statements in light of recent violence in Libya.

On June 12, 2012, he sent an e-mail to the director of the Office of Maghreb Affairs (which oversaw Libya) about the security situation in Benghazi.

But if Stevens needed to communicate directly to Clinton, it’s fairly certain he could have arranged it.
As former U.S. ambassador to Russia Michael McFaul tweeted:
As ambassador in Russia, I enjoyed multiple ways to communicate with Secretary Clinton. Email was never one of them.
