Why do some atheists think that evolution disproves a creator?

    Give it time.

Not in our lifetimes....but at some point we will have a good idea.

As it is now we are understanding things upon levels that could never have even been conceived of 50 years ago.

Having a good idea is not the same as knowing for sure. I argue that if we come to a base finding, that this will give rise to the question, "what is the base finding based upon?"

When it comes to the creation of life and the universe we will either come to a base axiom which will give rise to the above question, or we will settle on a universal constant that has no beginning nor ending that cannot be scientifically proven.

I think in the end both science and religion will fail to answer the greatest mystery of the universe, who or what created us and the cosmos?

I think unnecessary, and add the value judgement of 'vain'. there's something infantile about the expectation of and demand for complete knowledge. and since we can't (yet, if ever) have it - the automatic acceptance of the most inane explanation is a wilful engagement of lazy, infantile vanity. I think most adult theists are aware of this at some level - hence the conjuring of 'boons'.

At least evolution shows that the Bible, the god of the Bible, as described in the Bible, is not true, and that Christians who believe it's from god are, well, delusional, I argue. But I've been wrong before.

But, but, but, I'm going to die before that, so I have to latch on to somebody (Jesus) who promises me a favorable after-life TODAY!!!! I CAN'T WAIT FOR SCIENCE TO SHOW US THE TRUTH (SURE, IT WILL EVENTUALLY), BUT I CAN'T WAIT THAT LONG!!! Jesus, please save me!!

maybe, maybe not. I can't see how it matters a jot - unless you're of the temperament described in my previous response. asking pointless questions and filling in your own answers (always in your favour - magically), is like a lifelong rail against your own insignificance.

Who gets to decide if a question is pointless and by what authority? We all fill in the blanks with our own perspective which may or may not be in sync with reality.

I certainly don't, but there's an inconvenient truth to it. Asking questions we know are unanswerable, and which have no bearing on our existence other than to convince some of their own importance, are effectively pointless. Though if you accept 'telling yourself you're special and significant because you "know", and the knowledge is entirely in your favour' as a point, then I'm wrong.

Man is a thinking animal and man has evolved not only physically, anatomically but also metaphysically. Man believes in something beyond all visible, measurable ideas. That man has invented religion, God, supernatural power is something imponderable.

    What about Reality, though?
    Reality is the creator.
And Reality has a son called Truth.

Truth leads us to see Reality, hence we don't have to be crazy and believe in fantasy worlds.
But we do have to bow down to Realities.

There are layers of realities. When you look at a mountain peak you will think that is the ultimate summit, but once you scale it another bigger mountain emerges and there is no end to it. Is the first mountain that we deemed the tallest is reality or the second one but there will be a series of mountains emerging one after unstoppably.
Therefore what we call reality is also an illusory reality. All our yardsticks, benchmarks are illusions and something beyond our sensory or sensual perceptions, discernments is unknowable, arcane.

For those who think Reality is an ILLUSION....try jumping off a 3 story building and when you hit the ground hard...then talk to me about reality being an illusion.

10 bucks says you've never read any actual philosophy or hermeneutics. You were probably an ex-fundamentalist, which affirms my suspicion about New Atheism

Philosophy in general, or silly and honest philosophies based around making excuses for nonsensical religions?

Whether a question can be answered or not is something specific to science. This is because
it can provide testable hypotheses which determine the truth value of any proposition through
experimentation or observation. Non scientific questions can be answered also although they
cannot be subject to potential falsification and cannot be proven even if they are actually true
This is why science is infinitely better at answering questions than philosophy is although the
questions science asks are how ones. Whereas the questions philosophy asks are why ones

how is the same as why, in science. as in, why does penicillin kill bacteria.

the why which presupposes purpose, or looks for purpose, is simply humans bleating out their monkey distress when no pattern is seen.

It's not that evolution disproves god. It's that evolution disproves religion. That's cause most religions have a creation story. And in most cases, it says that humans were created in present form by god. And if that creation story is false, then the rest of the teachings of that religion are questionable as well. And thus, the whole religion unravels.

So no, evolution doesn't disprove god. If you want to disprove god, you have to turn to physics (which has shown that according to the laws of quantum mechanics, something can come from nothing, thus disproving the very basis for god).

Evolution does not disprove the possibility of a God but it does disprove the credibility of the Bible.

No, it disproves the literal credibility of the Bible, not it's credibility. Most Christians view the Old Testament as sort of an extended parable.
