Considering the recent comments by Trump, I came to think to myself of just how agitated the West has become in regards to the whole Islamic terrorism thing.

I mean, the Muslim world has been attack by the West for decades, and the former's patience eventually broke down with 9/11.

But it's not like the Muslim world is demanding to kick out the West, even after events like the US invasion of Iraq (imagine if it was the other way around). Granted, only Trump has been saying these things so far, but as more attacks occur, the more the West's anger will rise.

I mean, we're talking about a peoples who gassed millions of minorities. Tolerance has never really been their forte.

The question is whether we are steadily reaching the point where things will get settled once and for all. Two diametrically opposing ideas cannot coexist in this world. Communism and Capitalism fought each other until one finally gave way.

And so too will God and Godlessness fight. It's inevitable. I understand the grievances of the West, just as I do the Muslim world. But I regard them as both being in the wrong, particularly the Muslims.

    As the Prophet foretold:

I'm not in a mood to argue with anyone's version of God at this hour.

If another poster is correct, ISIS may soon be seeing more opposition.

If the entire Mideast actually supports ISIS, now might be a good time to say so. It could save everyone a lot of trouble.

The ME doesn't really care, nor does the Muslim world in general. That's the problem.

A war of epic proportions will do them right in slapping them out of their slumber and make them realize that they've abandoned their religion for far too long.

I don't see any good reason to drag the West into that.

In any case, IMO the people in Islamic lands have seen enough chaos and violence for one century already.

I've got mixed feelings about Muslim immigration - to be honest I wouldn't mind a little "Islamization" of college campuses to off-set the Marxist and PC indoctrination we see in public universities and the media.

If more and more Muslims started enrolling then it could bring in some "traditional values" to offset the lunatic fringe left-wing views such as "womyn's studies" that get pushed on students there.

The average American couldn't accomplish it, but if Muslims used white guilt against the campus SJWs and appealed to their fear of being racist or bigoted they might be able to restore a little order there.

So who knows? Maybe the American right-wing and moderate Muslims should stop being enemies and temporarily join forces to help take our campuses and media back from radical left-wingers, who I think are causing more harm to America than Islamists are anyway.

Well, it's too late for the West to back away now.

It took the likes of WWII to force Europeans to stop killing each other. Muslims need to wake up, and unfortunately, only a forceful slap to the face will achieve that.

Sounds rather masochistic to me, and IMO the West should back off.

If the traditionalist conservatives in America wisened up they'd realize that far-left are a way bigger threat to traditional values than non-violent Muslims are.

A Muslim isn't going to try to bully them into calling Bruce Jenner a woman or else be labeled a bigot, or try to sue their bakery out of business for not making a gay wedding cake, or claim a woman has a "right" to abort a fetus for any reason up until 1 second before delivery..

Some right-wingers, especially the less educated ones are just reactionaries who think anything "different" or "foreign" than them is a threat (extremists of all sides seem to fit that camp including the "tolerant left").

If they used more critical thought they'd realize that it's pretty silly for them to oppose the entirety of Muslims just for reading a different "Holy Book" than them.

Two conflicting ideologies will continue to cause unrest.

If the United States did not have anything to do with the affairs of the Middle East, the Middle East would have left America alone.

Yes, the only thing understood in the Middle East is brute force. Reasoning, logic, compromise, and negotiation are signs of weakness.

ISIS must be exterminated. That will discredit radical Islam and go a long way toward ending this crap.

The terrorists are coming here no matter what we do. Either we go into the Middle East with ground troops and beat them exactly as we beat Nazi Germany, or we just stay at home and have San Bernardino's on a weekly basis, in perpetuity.

Which is the lesser of two evils?

Wait...thought you guys said radical muslims are not Islam and only make up an extremely small percentage of muslims? According to what you are saying looks like Muslims may not be compatible with living in the United States. Which is it, a Islam does not agree with ISIS or is ISLAM diametrically opposed to western living?

Pre 9/11 there was kind of a truce between church types and Muslims based on traditional values. In fact for Bush's 2000 election, Muslim were the only minority group that gave Bush majority support.

Think about that for a minute...that's how much the world's changed. But ultimately Islam showed it's cards too early and I think there is virtually no chance of any sort of rapprochement now. The type of societies we want are very different.

As far as Islam on the US college campus, it's already there and bringing nothing of what you seem to think to higher learning. Instead, they are attacking Jews, demanding safe Muslim spaces, and banning speakers from campus they don't like, the typical left wing victimization policies.

No there is no showdown coming. And I disagree that two diametrically opposing ideas can't co-exist. There have always been much more than two co-existing ideas bouncing around the world. They may or may not co-exist peacefully, but the world seems pretty vast and there are a lot of different versions of what constitutes "the good life."

But the West is in permanent decline, so I'm not sure what advantage could be gained into trying to force a confrontation now, when the West is still pretty strong. I would say just keep doing what you're doing. Continue to colonize Europe and demographics will do easily what terrorist bombs will never be able to do.

The OP reads like a AQ or IS indoctrination piece. Pretty powerful stuff. It works on two levels, it makes sense to a wide range of muslims and it works to close western minds to reason.

Its not intelligent to think that tradition, culture and religion won't be used in clandestine recruiting tactics. But its not intelligent either to think that those things are the final factor to judge people over.

For the terrorist more war is better. They are not stupid and they are not cowards, anything done against them they will use in anti-west propaganda and most are prepared to die in that process. If things cool down they will work as hard as they can to aid or encourage terrorist attacks within western countries, because that will spark western reaction and thus continue the conflict. Anyone thinking there is a simple fix to this conflict is deluding themselves, involvement and non-involvement both have serious drawbacks in the ME.

A bulls aggression works well for it in the field, not so well in the ring against the matador. Understanding you opponent and choosing the fighting ground is a much better advantage than brute force.

This is why we need the PURPOSE of free speech.

Yes, the West is in decline. But don't you think that it will- when realizing the degree to which it has allowed itself to sink- bounce back to life, albeit before breathing its last breath?

I have a theory that when ans if this time comes, the West will return to Christianity. If a man turns to God when he really needs him, then so too will the West. So I guess I could be wrong about the whole idea thing. But that doesn't mean the showdown won't take other forms.

All I know is that it'll be Islam vs everyone else.

Well yes I agree, there will be some sort of "bounce back." Actually that's a prediction that I've been making for years both here and other places, but it basically goes like this:

The demographic and Islamic conversion in Europe will continue, but as the percentage of Muslims grow they will flex their political muscle and slowly remake their societies in an Islamic image. Muslims are about 5% in the UK and about 7% in France, but what happens when they're 25 and 27 percent? Either one or more of the current political parties will Islamicize or there will be new Islamic political parties that will share power (if you are at all familiar with the plot of Houellebecq's Submission you basically know how that will work).

Eventually Europeans, and by that I mean the native peoples who are are by and large Christian, whether devout or not, will have a WTF moment, and realize that if they don't do anything to stop the trend, the outcome is becoming a minority in their own countries, with all the joy that being a non Muslim minority in a Muslim majority country brings. That's when you have civil war. Imagine Yugoslavia, spread out across the continent.

But I can't imagine that happening until it's too late to do anything about it. And I don't think it will necessarily bring a rebirth of Christianity with it, although it could.

America is in a totally different situation. When Trump made his proposal to ban Muslims (or more realistically, to ban Muslim immigration) our establishment, both left and right went into fits, but it wouldn't actually hurt him politically assuming he actually won the nomination. Muslims are a little more than 1% of our population, so the people who really have skin in the game on that issue and are worried about being cut off from a source of jihadi brides is thankfully very small and electorally insignificant. Meanwhile European politicians criticized Trump on that, something I think is pretty much unprecedented for European politicians to do; criticize an American Presidential candidate who hasn't even won the nomination yet. For Europeans, it is too late to ban Muslim immigration. They are already too large a part of the European electorate. President Hollande vowed to take in even more Syrian refugees. That will show ISIS!

I think I've said it in another post, but I do think long term, Islam will grow stronger and more dominate and Christianity will grow weaker and smaller.
