http://www.theguardian.com/us-news/...attempted-murder-failed-self-induced-abortion At the core of this is WHY? What would make a woman so desperate to terminate that she would insert a coat hanger into and past the cervix - a very tight muscle at the neck of the uterus (womb) to damage herself to the point of abortion? Further from that same article
40 weeks is normal . so 24:weeks is more than half or 4 month old fetus. At this gestational age the fetus IMO is a human . it has a heart beat functioning and growing brain and on ultrasound resembles a fully developed fetus. Why didn't this mother seek abortion after missing her period? At that time there is only and embryo with no heart beat.
Why? Maybe it's a mental health issue. Maybe it a total lack of education on reproduction . Even if she had sex education does it ever include information on abortion? Maybe it's a domestic control/abuse issue by her boyfriend/father/mother? Maybe some sick degenerate people ( Republicans) got the closest clinic for her closed and she had no access to safe affordable health care. All of the above could lead to this kind of tragedy. Maybe just like a rich white kid gets away with murdering four people because it "suffered" from AFFLUENZA women should get away with events like this since they suffer from being female...
Key words being, "In My Opinion." No authoritative source defines a human being as having a heart beat, a growing brain, or resembling a fully developed fetus. Some women have irregular periods and are unaware of a pregnancy. Tennessee's harsh anti-abortion laws have purposely made abortion difficult for any woman to access at any point. 96% of Tennessee counties have no abortion clinic, and none in the state perform abortions after 16 weeks.
The OP asks why would a woman induce an abortion? Plenty of reasons and about 1 million every year have induced abortions. The question is why didn't this women have access to an induced abortion until this stage of her pregnancy? Was she obstructed on her way to a clinic and told that she was "murdering her baby" by a member of Operation Rescue? Was her access to contraception denied because Republicans in her state denied her Obamacare? Or have Republicans in her state made it impossible for her to even get to an abortion clinic at all? Nothing is going to stop a woman from inducing an abortion if she doesn't want to be pregnant. What matters is whether the state recognizes her rights or unconstitutionally tries to deny her those rights.
