CORRECTION ! The town is called Chornobyl in it's proper language which is Ukrainian. Chernobyl is in the language of the barbarians who ran the reactor at that time and caused that disaster upon the people of Chornobyl Ukraine, and the radiation spread into neighboring Belarus. Very very very very very very little radiation fell on Russian soil even though the Moskaliy aka Russians are 100 % guilty for this disaster.

 

There is NOTHING indicating ANY prospect of the warhead going off.

The budget of the Air Force is being well overstressed and Congress is ignoring their asking for money to update the ancient and understaffed nuclear missile system.

The REAL question is WHY did the Air Force disclose this? Why did the AF WANT this story public? Technical errors on maintenance of equipment is NOT rare. Teckkies sometimes do try to take shortcuts or just make mistakes with highly complex and oft changing technical manuals. Screws up like occur somewhere in the military everyday and that cost as much, if not more, than this.
