when the wife was Pregnant with our first child, we were poor, we went to Planned Parenthood and they helped set us up with programs to help us with the pregnancy and even with diapers after the birth, helped set us up with programs like WIC, ect.....

they try to determine what you want, they do not try to force you to go one way or the other, it's your choice

if you come in saying you want to have a child, they are not gonna try to talk you out of it

if you come in saying you don't want to have a child, they are not gonna try to talk you out of it

Anecdotal evidence is hard to prove. Why should I believe your story is any more or less true than hers? Perhaps her friend had a bad experience with the PP she visited. Plus PP is one small part of her statement, the bigger issues for her was the way her friend responded "physically, emotionally and spiritually".

 

You didnt need PP all you have to do is walk into the local WIC office.

Proof you dont read what people right... PP had nothing to do with WIC all you have to do is walk into a WIC office.

 

some people respond different to having, non having or giving a child up for adoption, sure you can find someone form all groups that were negatively effected mentally after the fact by their decisions

heck, I seen women loose their arms and legs or even their lives from giving birth (that risk is someone everyone should choose for themselves and not be force to take the risk)

I been to a Planned Parenthood, have you? and yes, they did help get me with all those things, they showed me the options, we had never heard of WIC before going in, they helped get us parental vitamins, basic exams and diapers, ect after our child was born

my second child I made plenty of money and went to a regular doctor, but the poor need a place to go to get information they need

First, you have to know WIC exists.

 

PP isnt the only source of information.... Anyone could call the local SS office as well.

I don't, she's a politician. She probably knows someone who was negatively effected but I doubt she went and who knows if the friend was effected as deeply as she suggests. She uses the story to get n emotional response from her target audience. It's one of the issues she's focused on throughout the campaign, she's tried to use it to differentiate herself from the pack.

I just like to shake the tree sometimes and see what falls out.

 

Pro-life centers do the same things. Should a woman choose life, they guide her through getting all the resources available, including WIC.

You should watch this PBS documentary about forced sterilizations in the 70s. Poor women with little education and mostly non-English speaking were being sterilized without consent. While feminists were advocating sterilization on demand, the chicanas were trying to get mandatory waiting periods so the women would be more informed. The point is whether or not the doctors in the 70s or the abortion providers now think they know what's best for women, and ironically advocate choice; they're highest goals then and now are to stop reproduction. And you can fill in the blank for whatever you think their motives. Personally, I think liberals have no problem playing God and/or social engineer, and poor women will always be their easiest victims.

as far as your forced sterilizations, only anti-choicers would do that, as pro-choicers are about choice, not forcing one to do something

pro-lifers believe the gov should be able to force you to give birth

You aren't aware of any pro-life counseling centers in your area? The only place you're familiar with, where a woman can go for crisis pregnancy counseling, is Planned Parenthood the abortion provider? That is way sad. I hope you're not saying you can Google "pro life counseling center in my area" and not get any results. That would be astounding to me.

There are extremists on both sides, but as President Obama said (paraphrased) - if one common sense law saves the life of a child...
States have passed an array of laws, including requirements for licensed physician to perform the abortions, hospitals to be within certain distances, gestation limits, etc. All are better for women's health. All are vehemently opposed by pro-choice lobbies. Why?
