And what do you base that claim on?

Our biggest problem in the last 70 years has been being TOO ready to launch, not the other way.

Well ... lets not try that experiment and say we did.

So you're thinking China is going to launch a war against Russia to destroy it as a nation-state?

Given both are large nuclear powers, how would that end?

    - - - Updated - - -

It's from a bad science fiction film from the 60s-

That's debatable as authorization codes are required to launch American nuclear attack. America relies on their early warning response to launch a counter attack before enemy missiles reach them to assure mutual destruction. How can they detect a torpedo? DC could be wiped out before they even have the chance to do anything. It would be like a normal day and then nothing.

Even if you have they keys and is sitting in front of the launch console, you won't be able to launch anything without the codes.

I base that on our actions during 911, I base it on our reliance on Satellites, I base that on our negligence based on thinking MAD is a defense system, I base that on people having history of refusing to turn the key, lack of training, corruption and pure negligence in that part of the military.

I think the mechanism is likely to be more subtle.

Dangerous? We only make Russia dangerous by pitting it into a corner. Russia is far a better friend then China will ever be. China is a Han Empire that thinks 50 years into the future, where the Han is the supreme human and everyone else serves their hive needs.

What does not being prepared for hijackers using planes as suicide missiles have to do with nuclear preparedness?

Please explain how our nuclear response system is dependent on satellites, in a way that could be compromised without warning?

    *Shrug.* It's worked so far.

There might be something to that, but you'd have to show it was widespread and significant. There is currently no indication of that.

Big mistake it was to move away from the MAD doctrine.

Shocker, another Russian talking about how evil and aggressive the US is right after talking about a first strike nuclear attack against a city with virtually zero military capability.

There is a reason that NATO is around, because idiots like you keep talking about how you want to nuke America.

You have quiet a few countries to nuke out of existence like you are talking about.

    https://www.google.com/search?q=nuc...hUKxWMKHduCAwMQ_AUIBygC#imgrc=_W3HPql-qlE4fM:

So you are going to nuke:
    Turkey
    Greece
    Belgium
    UK
    Germany
    Netherlands
    Italy

Because the US has nukes there too....

The good news is we will keep expanding NATO because of verbatim that is being used by Russia. The OP is a perfect example.

    1. Our actions on 911 show we are not ready to be attacked, we think we are invisible and only setbacks happen out side our territory. We forgot what its like to defend the Homeland.

    2. We use our satellites for Intel, communications, an CC if they are taken out our response will be slower, and less accurate,

    3. Yes MAD has worked so far, but if we someone goes to far in either defensive systems or undetectable first strike then it might go out the window.

4.I believe our Nuclear deterrent has never been properly tested or regulated.

Turkiye has declared that it has finished its interior fight against local terrorists a few hours ago after 3 months of operations.
Now it will focus on ongoing refugee problem from Syria. Russia and Syria are bombing civilians consciously because these civilians are escaping to Turkiye. Until now officially 3 million, unofficially 4 million refugees have already entered Turkiye.
On this World there is no 2nd country to allow this amount of refugees; if anyone on this forum thinks that I am wrong please tell me I am wrong and please tell me which is the 2nd country to accept 4 million refugees. Germany? USA? Russia ( ahahahahahahahahahah )?

And there is another dangerous game being played by USA, Russia and Syria (USA and Russia has forced Esad to agree with them regarding a free Kurdistan at Syria). They are constructing free Kurdistan at Northern part of Syria with PYD(PKK's Syrian version). Turkiye will never allow that no matter what USA and Russia is willing to do.

So,the tension will be more and more in coming days.

Russia already knows that Turkiye will enter Syria, soon or later. That is why they are continuously giving information to international media that Turkiye has such plans.

As our very bad president said; Turkiye has a border with Syria with the length of 910 kms; what about Russia? Do they have any border with Syria?
Turkiye has relatives in Syria (Turkmens, Kurds, Arabs),what about Russia? Do they have any relatives in Syria?

Of couse the same questions can be asked to all countries which are having soldiers in Syria at the moment.

So...As this guy who started this threat talked about nukes, I will repeat what I have told above. If this foolish PUTIN will use the nukes, then he must kill all Turks. Otherwise, as a Turkish man, I know that Russians will find no peace, no happiness, no good days on this earth.

China isn't a friend. It is a nation we can work with. Russia belongs in a corner.

Bull(*)(*)(*)(*), China is a direct enemy with intentions of replacing the USA... Russia just wants respect, and be treated as a partner.

No it because they are offered economic aid. All of eastern European countries are broke. America is practically buying them.

We want them to replace us. America is sick of being the only adult in the room and shouldering the weight of so many nations. China deliberately devalues their dollar and avoids international turmoil to avoid taking a role as a world leader, and that option is running out. America needs some one to step up and take part of the weight. China is the only option, whether they're ready or not.

Sorry, I pressed the wrong key and gave incorrect information. It wasn't 144 days it was actually 444 days, 1 year and 2 months later that the US finally decided to act.
Not sure of the delay in gathering intelligence unless that were trying to get a local bus timetable or checking the opening hours of the local golf course.

To put it in perspective, April 30, 1980, militants took over the Iranian embassy in London and took 26 people hostage. May 5, 1980, the British SAS went in, killed all the militants and left.

Perhaps it's due to the different attitude that the British have on dealing with such situations.

"If you have an important point to make, don't try to be subtle or clever. Use a pile driver. Hit the point once. Then come back and hit it again. Then hit it a third time - a tremendous whack."

    Sir Winston Churchill

A brief violation is not enough reason to use deadly force. This is true especially since Erdogan said the same thing.

    - - - Updated - - -

No they didn't because to launch the nukes you NEED AUTHORIZATION CODES

    - - - Updated - - -

They don't have access to launch codes

    - - - Updated - - -

    You need CODES

Give a guy a gallon of paint and a brush and he's going to paint. In other words, it's their job.

    yep.

I was simply expanding the comment for those who perhaps didn't understand why a 70% reduction is meaningless to the planet.

After seeing a country going up in flames with no chance to retaliate, would you think that Europe will want the same fate? All for a "friend" that is no more?

People like living, even at the cost of their allies, most are willing to preserve their own life

If American global and economic dominance was lost, and China took its place, how quick do you think will Europe will switch sides as America has nothing to offer them anymore?

Relationships last only as long as your power and money.

Just ask Gaddafi. He used to have many allies and friends before America decided that he was getting to pesky.
