Michelson-Morely, Interesting experiments that predate the 1925 Michelson-Gale-Pearson experiment that concluded that the angular velocity (Rotation) of the Earth was as indicated by astronomy. The same Michelson you say shattered the myth of a moving Earth actually showed it does move

Why is there such a misunderstanding of the visibility between two objects? It is not the distance to the horizon from one object but the distance from each object to the horizon added together and then atmospheric refraction figured in.

Pictures of the Earth from space, taken from satellites in the early 60's show a spherical earth. those pictures were pre-CGI.

A simple search for global shipping routes maps, shows several that indicate the southern hemisphere is is not avoided at all but is used.

The distance to Polaris is great enough that it's position does not seem to move. Of note Polaris has not always been the North Star, The records in Egypt at the time the pyramids were being built show that Thuban was the north star, so we are moving.

The 23.5 degree tilt of the Earth shows why we are not all bathed in sunlight equally.

First of all you have to prove that NASA is lying about the earth. Second as for proof explain sunsets, lighthouses built to the curvature of the earth, the very fact we even have a horizon.

You're ready to call every source that either supports a globe earth or refutes a flat earth as liars. Let's see your proof for this.

Let's add a few things

Here's a real real life experience. On vacation in San Francisco. Sitting on a dock at San Francisco bay watching the sunset. The sun had finally disappeared from view. Getting up and looking back at the buildings of San Francisco I see the sun shining brightly on the buildings. As I watch, the sunlight moves up the buildings. Now according to the flat earth theory, sunset happens because of the distance of the sun to the observer and the opaqueness of the atmosphere obscuring it, basically the sunlight fades. Since the buildings were farther from the sun than I was, there should have been no sunlight on those buildings but there was. Also as time passed, the sunlight didn't fade as the flat earth theory says but actually moved up the sides of the buildings . Sunset doesn't support the flat earth view that sunlight fades but does of the sun moving behind something that is blocking it, basically a curvature.

Take a telescope to a large lake, set it at 5 feet off the ground and look at something tall on the other side of the lake that is near the water. Note what the lowest part of the object you can see is. Now reset the telescope so it is 1 foot off the ground and look at the same object. You can no longer see that low part that you could see at 5 feet. The only reason for that would be if something was blocking your view. That something would be the curvature.

One of the claims of flat earth believers is the horizon always rises to eye level and that if there were a curvature you would be looking down on the horizon. Search for and look at any number of photos taken from commercial planes that include the wing in the photo. The horizon is always below the wing and since you are looking down on the wing, you are looking down on the horizon showing that there is indeed a curvature.

No, I don't believe that.

I think that the ancients who believed the Earth was flat were a minority, or the uneducated mass. It is easy to see that it is a globe - there are about a dozen observable signs about it, and the ancients knew how to observe things. They were not stupid.

They didn't knew the whole of it, thought it was smaller maybe but the ancients knew the world was a sphere.

 

No one believed Earth was Flat since the Ancient Greeks figured it was a sphere. What an idiotic concept...flat earth (*)(*)(*)(*)ing baffooons.
