I would love to have him as my Senator. Just wish he had dropped earlier.

Any thought on where his supporters go?

Can he use those funds to fund a Senate bid?

The dude really wasn't running for POTUS, only to sell books and take in the donor's money for his personal use....like living expenses.

Actually a Senate bid makes sense. The Democratic candidate for Rubio's abandoned seat is facing ethics charges in the House, and the current Republican candidate is virtually unknown. Carson has just ran a national campaign with tons of airtime. I think he has a good shot at Rubio's seat.

I'm not seeing anything that states he dropped out. Just that he won't be attending the next debate

Which supporters? Have not heard a peep from any of them in weeks. Flash in the pan candidate and Flori-duh is just bizarre enough to elect him.

He says he does not see a path forward, but not formally ending it until after he gives a speech on Friday at CPAC.

REPORT: Ben Carson to Skip Thursday's Debate, Suspend Campaign Friday?

According to the Washington Post, Dr. Ben Carson will not be attending Thursday's debate in Detroit and will be eventually suspending his campaign for president--possibly on Friday, during his speech at CPAC.

Ben Carson, the retired neurosurgeon who briefly led the Republican presidential race before his campaign began an extended public implosion, will tell his supporters in a statement Wednesday afternoon that he does not see a “path forward” and will not attend Thursday’s debate in Detroit, according to two Republicans familiar with his plans.

Carson, however, will not formally suspend his campaign. Instead, the Republicans said, he has decided to make a speech about his political future on Friday at the Conservative Political Action Conference in Maryland, just outside of Washington.

But the announcement will serve as an acknowledgement that Carson’s candidacy is all but over following a disappointing showing in the 11 states that held contests on Tuesday.....snip~

Yes. I know he said he doesn't see a path forward, but he didn't say he was suspending his campaign. I understand it's all but a matter of time (he should have already about 4 debates ago), but the thread title is misleading. It's pretty much pulling a Cruz on people.

And to think if Rubio can't win the Presidency. In 2018 he will run for Governor of Florida. Tag Team back again, huh?

He has had around 5% in most of there elections. In many, that 5% could have made a big difference, depending on who it may have gone to. It could have effected Virginia, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Minn., Alaska or Vermont. If his support moved as a block to another candidate.

    Big if, but still.

Cruz's lie in Iowa killed Carson's campaign.

lol. He was leading before Trump compared him to a pedophile. That, along with his painful answers US policy abroad is what killed his campaign

Carson's campaign was already half dead. By the time the Iowa debate, he was only at 8-10%. Average of 7.7% between different polling groups. Trump, Cruz and Rubio were in the 15%-30% range.

Yes, most likely he will, but the thread title is still misleading. It hasn't happened yet. All the point I'm trying to make.

    He can't.

The con men who ran his direct mail fundraising effort have been pocketing it all along!

I guess the money torrent finally turned to a trickle, and Armstrong William's buddies figured that they'd milked the Carson campaign carcass for all they were going to get out of it.

Carson himself seems to have been a blind man walking throughout the whole thing.

    Carson never had a campaign.

It was a direct mail fundraising scam run by his mentor Armstrong William's shady friends. They pocketed around 60 cents of every dollar Carson raised.

Carson's own erratic performance, frequently odd remarks, and strange shifts doomed his campaign.

Even this is typical. He didn't actually suspend his campaign. He said he wasn't going to the debate, and there will be an announcement on Friday.

The Carson people were dumb enough to send a very mixed message on the night of the Iowa caucuss, which Cruz exploited. That speaks both to Cruz's shadiness and the Carson campaigns extremely amateur imeptitude.

The feuds in his campaign staff that broke out in January didn't help.

But the candidate himself has no idea what he was doing from teh very start. It showed too.
