I couldn't help but laugh as I watched Hillary on T.V. telling us this country never stopped being great and seeing all her sycophantic supporters cheer her with poop-eating grins on their faces. So since there's a thread that's asking Trump supporters(of whom I am not one of) when the country stopped being great, I thought I'd reverse the question to all you Hillary supporters/Democrats/liberals. You guys are the party of: We are racist We are sexist We are homophobic We are islamophobic We are bigoted Our rich suck. Our white people suck. Our system that favors both the rich and white suck. Capitalism sucks. Our military sucks for waging wars for oil. Our police suck for shooting unarmed black men just because they are black. Republicans and Conservatives suck. our Death Penalty sucks. Our minimum wage sucks. Our 2nd amendment sucks. Until a short while ago we sucked for not having Gay Marriage. Fat people suck and the non-organic food that made them that way sucks and the crappy Walmart store that sold it to them sucks. And of course We ALL suck ESPECIALLY hard for causing Global Warming. So you tell me. Exactly when did America start being great? I'm honestly quite curious what your answers are going to be.
Oh, and i'll go ahead an answer the question for myself on the subject, since that's the least I can do. I personally believe America is a great country from the moment of its birth because the foundation, while flawed and paid for in blood, was nevertheless a great foundation written by Great people. I don't think I really need to say I'm talking about the Constitution. It's the backbone of this country and it;s stood the test of time. So long as we have that, this country will always be great, no matter how big or small it is or how many or how few people live under it. JMO
well I am not a Hillary supporter, but she basically already answered this... "we need to make it whole again"... thats basically their way of not denying things need to improve without saying its not great... its all just a play on words and hyperbole from both sides... politics is just about painting positives from negatives... its the psychology behind it... basically suggesting his slogan is negative, and her slogan is positive... she's attempting to trump Trump... And I also said that had nothing to do with "some people" in America "are not so great". The "not so great" are the ones who corrupt Capitalism, the second Amendment, death penalty, gay marriage, PP, and so on. In other words, corruption by the "some who are not so great" doesn't cancel out America being great. It makes the "some who are not so great" as "still not being so great".
You can pass the hate from America to just the people who made it that way, but you and I both know that's insulting to our respective intellects. "I hate America" are words that have been, are used, and will continue to be uttered by Leftists. When Obama went on his apology tour, he apologized for AMERICA, not "the small minority of Americans who did all those bad things". When was the last time any one of them ever said "I hate the people who made America this way?" ummm....never. The thought of one of you actually issuing a disclaimer about your problems with this country in such a way is downright laughable. But by all means keep playing your game. I'll even play it with you. So, why do you think America is so great and what would it have to do/be like for you to believe otherwise that couldn't be attributed to the people who made it that way? America started to be great when slavery ended. America continued to be great up until the Korean War when America got involved in other countries' affairs. Then, America declined. I am a proud Hillary supporter.
So you would characterize slavery as an institution disqualifying America as being great, but not women's suffrage, segregation, conquering of the West or carpet bombing cities culminating in 2 nukes on civilian targets? I do not think this country can ever be whole as long as politics is a game of divide and conquer. Of pitting one group against another group in search for votes.
I was merely making the point that liberals will denounce America by saying "America", not "the people who made America this way". A.K.A. they get to the point and not try to hide behind the fact it is America they are criticizing not just segments of its people.
