Even the Murdoch media is starting to question it:

I realise Truffles is a hostage of the Liberal right and the ever-conservative Nats, but I also think the electorate believes he's the PM and should be acting like the PM. The waffling is becoming disturbing to the average person. Now if only Labor can hold its nerve.

It turns out Turnbull is Abbott with a nicer and friendlier face, nothing more, nothing less....

    Time for a change,

It's the least offensive pejorative I can come up with that's in current use.

I see the Australian Christian Lobby had a win over common sense with Malcolm going to water on a teaching manual

He'd better get that double dissolution fast. If he waits too long he'll be out on his bum with his mates.

There will be no DD. He doesn't need it. The suggestion of it was used as a spineless threat to highlight the unworkable situation in the senate, thus prompting Zenaphon and the Greens leader Di Nitale to work with Turnbull on legislation to change the voting structure of the senate.

This was rather masterful of Truffles( I do like this nick name, seems somewhat appropriate) to be honest, because what he has effectively done has driven a small but very well placed wedge between the Corporate Left( I call Labor this now, as they no longer resemble anything Labor) and the Greens, with Di Nitale coming out after the legislation was canned in the senate, condemning Labor as a party driven by faceless individuals from behind the scene, doing back room deals at a cost to the voting public. Don't worry little Labor Stooges, the Greens still hate the Libs more, but any solid foundation built between the Greens and Labor is being eroded daily. Turnbull played genius politics, knowing full well Labor had to do a deal with the independents to squash the Greens legislation and thus in doing so Labor had given the Greens a nice little Ceasarian stab in the back.

He has also allowed Hot Air Billy to hang himself slowly over the Negative Gearing debate. The problem with bold declarations Bill Shorten is that they make very loud statements that very few people look past. Now if in the unlikely situation that old Trash Teeth does become our PM he will have to back the NG policy he has come with or risk looking the absolute Turkey he is. His policy is at best dangerous without a full overhaul of the complete tax system.

Having said all this, has Turnbull been a good PM ? Not nearly as good as he has been a politician. Then again what could he reasonably do with less than a year before an election, faced with a hostile extreme right faction and sitting as an unelected by the public PM? Well at least the media would have you believe that we the voters pick the PM, although anybody who knows anything about Aussie politics knows this is not the case.

So for me he has been far too busy feeding out rope for Shorten to hang himself with, to be able to do anything Prime Ministerial. Too bad for the people he serves who are looking for some kind of leadership at all.

Has anyone else noticed that twelve months ago Plibersek, Burke, and Wong were fused tightly to Shortens hip in nearly every interview ? Now I never see them near him, the distance is glaringly obvious. Bill is not there with the support of his party. Maybe Di Nitale has an idea of who is backing him !

Pretty good analysis slippery. I just couldn't see him waiting until October to establish his own mandate though. The longer he waits, especially being tied to Abbott the worse it seems it would get, unless of course he makes some decisive decisions based on ideals we all thought he had.

The only decisive decision he has time to make before October is to fully discipline Abbott in the face of the voters and his own party. Show some spine, and stand up to his party's bully boy.

It seems to me the public have no idea what they actually want. This started long before the Abbott and Turnbull dance. I always go back to Campbell Newman. He gets in with a massive majority, delivers on a large percentage of his promises, and then gets voted out because he delivered on what he said he would do. This is just crazy stuff. He had his issues, and some say he was a crook, and no I did not vote for him. BUT what did the bloody public think they were voting for when they voted him in, in the first place.

It seems to me that whoever is the PM at the time can not win a trick, why? because this stinking media we have in this country controls the minds of fools, and it seems that there are increasing numbers of lazy minded Australians that feed off their crap. They destroyed the previous two Labor leaders, done a fine job on our future Pope, Abbott, and are now doing the rounds on Truffles( I so love this nick name). You wonder why our country seems so destabilised, look no further than our television screens, iPads, and phones.

In the past, long time ago, we actually had politicians that achieved significant things. Imagine if we only gave Hawke twelve months to introduce Medicare. Today we would have had his party remove him because it is taking too long to implement his promise. Hell, Medicare took nearly a decade to implement properly from its conception to a fully working model.

So now here sits Turnbull being lamented by all and sundry because he has not changed the entire tax system ! Hell, he has six months already, useless bastard..... SACK HIM! I mean how long should it take to change something that is mired in over a hundred years of red tape.

    Really! give me a break.

A public rebuke would work on behalf of the public but dang, it would stir up the water between the factions. If he was looking for destabilisation he would certainly get that with this action you'd think.

Campbell Newman was not just a crook but a complete goose. Dare I say it, he made Abbott look like he had Menzies qualities. I'm not sure about him fullfilling all his promises. But he certainly tried to introduce heaps of surprises. He was a man for the privileged and had absolutely no thought for the little man but ensure they would eventually be beggers or shine his shoes. It was no surprise this man who won by such a landslide victory would lose at the very next election along with his own seat. He was an absolute disgrace in terms of governing for all the people. That's my thought anyway.

Abbott talked it up but couldn't follow through but knew he couldn't follow through with his economic plan, He was so negative about anything labor did good or bad he cornered himself in government. Turnbull will need to be honest about our economy and the need for debt in various circumstances to the point of educating the people and allowing people to feel comfortable but with a clear plan to work towards a surplus, which is also dependent on circumstances. If Shorten goes down the same track, the merry go round and the revolving doors will continue that's if he is lucky enough to win government. At the end of the day, Australia needs another major party to stop the 2 party tit for tat.

Turnbull will need to win the next election in his own right as a leader before he starts to assert himself within his party. This is because he is from the smallest faction, much like Rudd was. Perhaps he learnt from Rudds mistakes.

I use Newman as a prime example purely because his majority was so large not even the opposition expected to win that election. Might be the reason Anna has done absolutely squat up here other than increase the numbers in the public service. As I said to someone the other day, she may be playing it safe at this stage, with the lack of experience she has at her disposal in regards to front bench. I again am happy to give her some time as the opposition is a disaster, not a great deal of choice in QLD at the moment unfortunately.

You could also include Gillard in this as an example. She had to play far too much politics within her own party to actual be effective as a leader. In short too many egos wanting to be boss. The old saying.... Too many chiefs and not enough Indians" may be appropriate.

I am not sure where this will end as the media is ethically expired and are more into Hollywood production than they are a balanced, truthful and accurate portrayal of the facts.

Right now Australia are transitioning economically from the volatile resources industry to an economy of past tried and true agriculture and technology. Unfortunately manufacturing is dead, but for decades upon decades Australia trusted in these three pillars for economic stability, and now we must work towards building at least two of these pillars back up to shoulder our economic future. However I am not confident with the talent at the political level to lead us through these trying times.

Personally TV I don't believe we need another political corporation trying to suit themselves at the cost of the people. In my opinion we need a complete new system, one that places the power back in the hands of the people.

Rudd won in his own right but was shown the door. Once Rudd baulked at the biggest moral challenge of our time he lost the people. No explanation, just dropped it. This was the beginning of the end of his credibility. The lefties of the party would have been ropable at his backdown. Anyway all these idiots have been making massive claims that they can't uphold and therefore reflects in polls and then stirs up deeper factional attitudes and biases as they get jittery, and then leadership aspirants see opportunity. Yep, and the media have a field day.

Plenty of talent and lots of tools, just way too many big noters and personal agendas.

Over the past five decades politicians have turned an extremely wealthy country POOR. Unfortunately, the people don't have time on their side to make a decision to change the system - time is running out FAST.

The citizens desperately need professional to step in, and offer alternatives to politicians and the way the country in managed.

Well, Gina Rhinehart could be like the minister for mining and resources, Rupert Murdoch the minister for media and communications, and throw in foreign affairs for good measure. Andrew Bolt could hold the multicultural and aboriginal affairs portfolio. John Singleton the minister for racing and sport. Hell, there could even be a spot Ivan Milat in the ministry of correctional services. If there isn't such a portfolio we can make one.

Actually I think I know what he's getting at and there have been discussions about this before. It would be ideal for us the people to collectively make decisions on all major national issues and administrators to simply implement. So if we want a carbon price, we get it. If we want an increase in GST, we get it. If we want marriage equality we get it. If we want a fibre to the node network we get it without having to wait on politicians playing their silly little games. Administrators could keep us informed of finances and we dictate collectively where we would like funds to be allocated. We can request a reductions or increases in certain areas. We can dictate pay rates for politicians and the removal at anytime of a government deemed not to be working for the best interest of people Collectively. Let's have a huge revolving door, churning out idiots who want to sit on their arses bludging off our taxes. Sounds good in theory, for me anyway.
