That means a rate of .006% of all gay wedding ceremonies result in lawsuits over refusal of service.

There have been far more refusal of service lawsuits brought by heterosexual couples.

Bottom line - this is a statistical aberration - not the teeth gnashing, end of the world event that some right wing fundamentalists
try to make it out as.

It wasn't more than 400 years ago so called witches were burned at the stake with people using the bible as their reason. It wasn't more than 50 years ago some were using the bible to justify interracial marriage bans.

You really don't have a clue. There is no Federal law on discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation by private employers. Half the states currently have no such laws.

Actually, there is. It's called the 14th Amendment, and the courts have backed this up on numerous occasions.

As of right now there is no Federal Law (for the country) against discriminating on the basis of sexual orientation. Now, that may be brought up to the SCOTUS or determined at a later date that the 14th applies to it, but right now the only ones protected Federally against sexual orientation discrimination are Federal Workers.

 

The 14th Amendment applies to federal and state government...not private entities. Geesh, ever since Obama started pretending to be a Constitutional scholar, every Tom, Dick and Idiocrat has followed suit.

who aren't using religious arguments to rationalize bigotry.

People sue over spilt coffee. Children sue parents because they won't buy them a car. There is always a percentage of any social group that are a little wack. Judging an entire social group over the actions of .006% of them is pretty asinine.

 

Oh, I think its pretty clear they want the $100,000s of damage awards instead.
