If Trump and Sanders run together, would you support it?

I'm thinking Trump has made under-the-table promises to Netanyahu in exchange for media support and ragecontraction has gotten the word from one of the Israel lobbies that Trump is the boy du jour.

 

ONLY if Trump is on the top of the ticket.

Sanders probably wouldn't live 8 years, so Trump will pick another VP at some point.

Trump supporters would look hypocritical if they supported a man they call a "Communist" for Vice-President, Sanders.

Sanders supporters would look the same for supporting a guy who panders to racists and xenophobes, Trump.

I could vote for Bernie, as he wants Medicare for All, free public college, cut military spending, end American military adventurism, cut military aid to Israel, push for peace in the middle east, support Palestinian statehood, and end Citizens United.

 

Trump is so grotesque I wouldn't vote for him even if he put a gun to my head. I cannot stand the man, and every time see that orange hair and face, and listen to him go on and on with his same old talking points I want to throw up. Imaging that orange-haired man, with his nude model wife in the white house. Good god.

 

Talk about outside the establishment. I am sure corporate America would love to see a libertarian in the White House as they already advocate for corporate anarchy; but turning our government into a bastion of libertarianism would take at least 50 - 75 years. It wouldn't be easy to wean people off their social programs.

I'm a Libertarian, but I'm growing more and more pro-Trump by the day. I'm a strong-borders nationalist to begin with, and though I've got gripes with him on some things, anyone who terrifies the mainstream media and the two party establishment duopoly this much excites the heck out of me.

I abhor most of Bernie's major positions relating to government handouts, but I respect his positions against corruption and the TPP, among other things. Also have a soft spot for him because I feel like he's been getting the Democrat equivalent of the Ron Paul 2012 treatment.

If the general election were tomorrow I'd vote for the following:

Trump (vs) Clinton: Trump
Non-Trump GOP (vs) Sanders: Sanders
Trump (vs) Sanders: Trump or Libertarian Candidate
Non-Trump GOP (vs) Clinton: Libertarian Candidate or the OP's ticket

If John McAfee wins the Libertarian nomination I'll likely vote Libertarian in any of the above scenarios.

 

You are showing your ignorance of the candidate because you are fixated on the party. Johnson is no more a Libertarian than Trump or Cruz is a Republican or Clinton or Sanders is a Democrat. Johnson was a two term GOP governor of New Mexico...and he managed to govern well despite the state being decidedly blue.

Vote for the person, not the party. Voting for the party is part of what has gotten us into the mess in the first place.

 

Trump would not take VP position. If Bernie was VP he'd be able to do nothing.

I don't like Trump, but he is on to something if you listen to some of his interviews. He's kinda like the Godfather, "I'll give you a deal you can't refuse." Basically meaning if you don't renegotiate this deal, you will get (*)(*)(*)(*)ed over. He's not an appeaser, he's a deal maker, and you have to understand we have a lot of bad deals. When economist say its impossible to do what he says, sure, based on our current "deals" it is. Now, its gonna be a lot harder than he makes out, but I also understand where he says he'll just make it happen. I think there is more there than just bravado.

We do make terrible deals as a nation. No doubt about it.

 

I won't vote for one liberal so I certainly won't vote for two. I won't vote for Sen. Clinton, Sen, Sanders, Sen. Warren, Sen. Biden or Mr. Trump. If one of those pairs off with someone who isn't a liberal, such as Clinton/Cruz, they won't get my vote either. To keep it simple, understand, I will not vote for another liberal, ever.

The election of the POTUS is more of a popularity contest than a political decision. American politics is weird.

 

No way. I could never vote for Trump. To get me to vote for Sanders he would have to be running against Trump, not with him. I could also never vote for Clinton. So I plan on voting third party come November.

The left and right will not come together. The gap will continue to widen. Because those people want opposite things. Socialists don't want freedom. And free thinking people don't want socialism. All such a scenario would do would be to destroy the popularity of both of those candidates.

 

Trump and Sanders don't represent left and right. They represent left and possibly farther left.
