During an interview with “The Breakfast Club” Monday morning, Angela Yee asked the Democratic candidate what she always has in her purse. “Hot sauce,” Clinton answered. “Yeah.”

“Now listen, I want you to know that people are going to see this and say, ‘She’s pandering to black people,'” Charlamagne Tha God told Clinton.

"Okay,” Clinton said. “Is it working? No, but seriously. I’ve been eating a lot of hot sauce. Raw peppers and hot sauce. I think it keeps my immune system strong. Hot sauce is good for you.”

:roflol: I read this headline this morning and started laughing. The idea of a frigid white lady who can't stop coughing carrying around hot sauce in her purse, and telling a black radio host all about it (maybe in her signature selective black dialect) was too funny.

She's also named after Edmund Hillary and dodges sniper fire. :roflol:

Does anybody out there think this isn't pandering?

I'm not getting it. What is hot sauce supposed to mean? Is it a signal of some kind?

Many people, including blacks enjoy hot sauce enough that they carry some around with them lest they be without it.

Hillary is trying to say she's a down home girl who needs dat spice.

We are supposed to believe that its not pandering. Hence the DJ's comments.

my only question is, when is the last time you EVER saw her carrying a purse? the 80s? this is pandering and nothing more... just like when she invokes her southern racist accent when speaking to black crowds and groups... I find that immensely offensive since she never speaks like that during any other time to anyone else...

but hey, at this point, what difference does it make right...

P.S. wait, wait, hold the presses, I SPOKE TOO SOON!

I found this picture of her and a purse, and it wasn't the 80s... in fact it even shows the breakdown of whats inside her purse... I don't see a pocket for hot sauce though...

It's a stereotype that black people put hot sauce on almost everything. She's trying to be relatable, in that typical dopey and embarrassing way that white progressives act in the presence of non-white minorities.

I've never heard about the hot sauce thing. However I suspect it won't hurt her for attempting to pander. If her Amos and Andy black accent didn't drive black votes away nothing will.

She literally has nothing to worry about with respect to the black vote, no matter what she does. As long as the Republican Party is seen as the "white people's party" amongst minorities, and the Democratic Party's foundational platform is the transfer of wealth and power from whites to non-whites, the Democratic Party can maintain their current voting patterns, and strengthen them.

The real reason she carries it is to use on BLM protestors like pepper spray. But until she needs it, it just looks like she down...

I was doubtful as well (as she does tend to pander), but an interview with her by Conde Nast Traveller in 2012 indicates she claimed to carry Tabasco sauce in her purse.

    Ok Ok Cup,

Let's not play this partisan game. If some Republican went on the air and said that same thing...well we both know how that would go. Even the tweets of the black people posted on the other page show their concern with her remarks.

But yes, in the grand scheme of things, it's a very minor issue.

She is not a huge racist. She has an equal disdain for all demographics. She is completely lack of any semblance of empathy for anyone.

Of course she carries hot sauce in her purse. That's why she "...don't feel no ways tired."

I'd like to see random street interviews of black people on what they think of the hot sauce remark. Then ask them why are they are still going to vote for her?

Honestly, I would say it's dumb either way. I don't think the right holds exclusive rights to insignificant nonsense. There's a lot more to pick on Hillary about than her pandering to a group whose vote she's going to get anyways.

Notice I don't defend Hillary (and likely never will).

I agree. Actually I think it's kind of funny. It does not anger me. I would laugh just as hard if Trump looked some black guy in the eye and said "Man I love me some fried chicken" as I did her comment. I try and find humor in all politicians.

I would pay to see trump talking to a black journalist and say 'I love me some fried chicken, fried chicken is yuuuuuuuuuuge'

If people are stupid enough to base their vote on a hot sauce comment, they shouldn't be allowed to vote.
