If this is the only marble in the universe with "so called" intelligent life on it, why are there so many other solar systems in this galaxy? And why are there all those other galaxies?

The earth spins at 1,500 kilometers per hour. The earth travels around the sun at 100,000 kilometers per hour. Our solar system travels through the galaxy at 500.000 miles per hour. Feel dizzy?

If there isn't a God in control, man there should have been a collision by now.

I posted this thread on another forum, and got a lot of interesting responses. So I decided to see what you guys have to say about it.

I'm curious about the highlighted, I'm assuming it's sarcasm.

There have been billions of "collisions". There will be billions more. Perhaps some day, there will even be a collision between galactic cultures and
    not just bodies in space.

At the rate the universe is expanding, collisions become pretty unlikely....especially galaxies. Cause and effect=reason....reason=purpose.

Who told you there are other solar systems? This cannot be proven. This is a video of what they tell us we are doing right now.

This is what God tells us.

    1 Chronicles 16:30
Fear before him, all the earth: the world also shall be stable, that it be not moved.

    Psalms 96:10
“Say among the heathen that the LORD reigneth: the world also shall be established that it shall not be moved: he shall judge the people righteously.”

    A. Yes, we've discovered other solar systems.
    B. No, got did not tell us that.

the fact that there have been collisions then should prove there is no God as described in the bible

The Kepler spacecraft has found 134 confirmed exoplanets in 76 stellar systems, along with a further 3,277 unconfirmed planet candidates

Here's the tricky question for Creationists....if Creationism is right, and the Week of Creation was 6000 years ago?

We should be seeing ANY other galaxies. The light from them wouldn't have had time to reach us yet.

Did a human create cells? Or is a human made up of cells? What we think of God might be a collection of infinite amount of souls, there are forces that govern this collection, and sometimes the action of the whole has direct effect on the individual.

I'm not a Creationist, and what they believe is their business.

I'm a Deist, meaning God has created the universe but remains apart from it and permits his creation to administer itself through natural laws.

Not really my place to question on why God made billions of other galaxies...seems to me that's the equivalent of a petulant child asking why the sky is blue, followed up by series of unending other questions "but why."

The Universe is as God intended, that's all we need to know.

Such an uncurious and unquestioning attitude would still have us believing the Sun orbited the Earth and leeches cured disease.

How do you know that the universe is as God intended ?

Realistically...it's doubtful our species will last another 1,000 years.

    I'm pragmatic.

The rest of you can dream to your heart's content, me?

I'm making peace with my maker and this includes a recognition we are not the supreme beings in this realm.

We're mere star dust, I submitted to God's will long ago.

There have been and will be collisions and destruction in the Universe. But the Universe is kinda big, sooo...we can't expect a constant barrage of collisions on human timescales.

God can't make mistakes, according to most interpretations; and why would one assume otherwise, anyway?

Considering an intellect as vast as the Almighty's, don't you think he would get bored with only one toy to play with? The only reason that makes sense for our existence at all, is that the human race provides great comedy relief. God, watching us, is like us, watching Seinfeld. "Just look at the stupid (*)(*)(*)(*)e they do! Ha ha!!!"

Maybe God wants an infinite universe because he has an insatiable lust for comedy.

So you made the declaration....now you must prove it. My guess is you didn't even check the link giving the proof of the existence.

BTW, everything that exists is proof of creation....which is God.

The universe is in a constant state of change. The quotes you just provided are actually exposing the ignorance of the bible.

    I checked it.

It provides absolutely ZERO PROOF...and the majority of it is babble and misinformation.

I hold several advanced degrees specific to Cosmology, Astronomy and Particle Physics.

That website is spouting a bunch of falsehoods.

There are about 100 to 200 Billion Galaxies in the Universe and out Universe is FINITE as we can see to it's edge at a distance of approx. 13.4 Billion Light Yeas.

Mathematics dictates that our Universe is teaming with life as well as advanced life forms.

The Milky-Way and Andromeda are on a collision course. They will eventually merge into milkomeda. However no one will call it that on earth because humans will be long gone. Other life will look at it and name it something.
