I can't speak for others but for me I do both. some people work on growing as a Christian but neglect to grow as a person as well, others have no interest in growing as a Christian but grow as person. The two are not the same but both are important to grow in and in my opinion they need to be done as one
Really? You know Christians who profess disinterest in growing as Christians? The difference being...?
Not Christians specifically true enough some I have seen have little interest in actually growing in Christ and are more about enforcing their beliefs and doctrines and God forbid you should disagree with them but mainly I was speaking of non Christians although it is admirable in my eyes and I do have respect for those who while may not be Christians work on growing and maturing as a person and actually want to do something with their lives. I admire and I am proud of those who give it their all in life who aren't afraid to roll up their sleeves and work even if it's hard and you come home everyday being payed very little but being sweaty and smelling to high heaven or just that kind of work ethic in general these are the kind of people who grow as a person and will learn and mature by just doing their everyday jobs. as for the difference growing as a Christian goes along with growing as a person growing as a Christian changes a person entirely. I have always desired to grow as a person my past is gruesome and bloody and all I have seen in my life are immature rude self conceited irresponsible and lazy people and parents. I saw all this and learned what not to do as a person or and as a parent which I am currently am not but I did learn what makes a good parent from my own abusive and cruel parents. But when I became a Christian and I sought to grow in faith and to learn what it really means to be a Christian I saw drastic changes in me, I am timid and shy in nature I am one who is easily weakened and beaten and if things get hard for me in life I sink into despair but as a Christian as I grew the few strengths I did have were greatly enhanced and all my weaknesses while still being worked on were made much stronger. I am not who I was and the changes that were made in me astound me even today. Some have told me on here I have a level head and trust me this was not always the case.
I hope you've already come to understand and accept that you have a religious bias, then. It will make getting at the truth much easier Welcome!
I hope you will grow as a writer as well. I hate when people treat punctuation as optional.. As for "growing as a Christian changing a person entirely," meh. It's one way of thinking that a person may choose to pursue. Growing as an atheist, so to speak, will probably "change" you just as much as you age. Neither choice will change who you are fundamentally, though.
Spoken like a non-Christian who has no idea what they're talking about. No other religion or worldview transforms a person like Christianity.
I suppose it's a matter of how we see things, Also i apologize for my bad writing i never learned how to in school. as for if either choice changes us that also is how we view things.
