I must have forgotten about this, Hillary Clinton has had a similar email scandal before, a million subpoenaed email were lost in 1999.

How anyone could want more of this is insane.

    ...

While the State Department’s own internal probe found former Secretary Hillary Clinton violated federal recordkeeping laws, it’s not the first time she and her top aides shielded her e-mail from public disclosure while serving in a government position.

As first lady, Hillary was embroiled in another scheme to bury sensitive White House e-mails, known internally as “Project X.”

In 1999, as investigators looked into Whitewater, Travelgate, Filegate and other scandals involving the then-first lady, it was discovered that more than 1 million subpoenaed e-mails were mysteriously “lost” due to a “glitch” in a West Wing computer server.

The massive hole in White House archives covered a critical two-year period — 1996 to 1998 — when Republicans and special prosecutor Ken Starr were subpoenaing White House e-mails.

Despite separate congressional investigations and a federal lawsuit over Project X, high-level e-mails dealing with several scandals were never turned over. And the full scope of Bill and Hillary Clintons’ culpability in the parade of scandals was never known.

    <

During the Project X e-mail scandal, career White House staffers and contractors found that someone close to the first lady had basically turned off the White House’s automated e-mail-archiving system. They fingered White House “special assistant” Laura Crabtree Callahan, who was overseeing the computer contractors despite obtaining computer-science degrees from diploma mills.

    <

When career staffers at State raised concerns that Clinton’s e-mail records weren’t being properly captured and preserved, they were told to shut up, according to the IG’s report, instructed “never to speak of the secretary’s personal e-mail system again.”

Likewise, career staffers and contractors at the White House were ordered to keep those earlier unarchived e-mails secret. In fact, they testified that Callahan personally threatened them with jail time if they disclosed the gap to prosecutors or lawmakers.

a little info on the White House IT manager during the Clinton Administration

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laura_Callahan

Three Northrop Grumman contract workers responsible for operating the system testified that Callahan and another federal employee ordered the problem to be kept so secret that it was referred to only as “Project X”.[1] The workers testified that Callahan threatened to jail them if they talked about "Project X" to anyone, even their spouses. One technician, Robert Haas, said she warned him "there will be a jail cell with your name on it."[2]

Listen to what the IG report found: "When questioning Hillary's staffers about her private email server, the government officials were told never to bring this subject up again."

I have absolutely no doubt that Hillary Clinton told Obama that one of the conditions for her serving as Secretary of State was that she would use her own email server and do with it as she pleased.

This "Shucks, I just made a li'l mistake for convenience is a crock of (*)(*)(*)(*), just like everything else that comes out of her mouth.

How long until we get a deflection onto Bush or Powell or some GOP member? I give it by post twelve.

Too bad said deflection won't actually be a defense of Hilla herself though.

Old habits die hard and rules are for the little people. Some people will swallow anything dangled before them and that must be what Madame Clinton is counting on.

It only took to post 7! Good show, all! Although I'm fairly sure that the "But s/he did it too" defense doesn't work in court too well - I know it doesn't work in my classroom.

Absolves? No, but it does show that righties have double standards and they're level of faux outrage is determined by whether the person has an "R" in front of their name or a "D".

So you claim. If the republicans blatantly abused the law and the democrats let them get away with it all whose fault is that? The alleged crimes of republicans don't absolve Hillary Clinton of her wanton lawlessness.

using personal email is not blatantly abusing the law

how about warrant-less wiretaps or torture, did the right care about those? no... but using personal email is totally evil to them... unless a republican did it

Hillary Clinton is not in legal hot water merely for her personal email. Either you know nothing about the issue or you'll say anything to give
Shrillary political cover. Either way, it's not good.

    Bull! More disingenuous blather.

Again, you are deceitfully misstating the issue in order
to mitigate Hillary's blatant illegalities. Your credibility is zero as a result.

Why on Earth would a first lady be required to archive anything? She isn't elected, she isn't appointed. She draws no salary.

BTW, the reason that the main stream press doesn't cover a story like this is that it was a nothing burger then and a nothing burger now.

Why was the Inspector General required to up his own Security Clearance to the highest degree, just to look at some of the emails that passed through the old shoe's homebrewed email server? What was that all about? :wall:

Are Dems any different? Look, we're all partisans, so when Republicans broke the law or did something improper, it was your chance, opportunity and yes -obligation to make as much stink as possible. Did you?

Now it is our turn, and our responsibility to hold Dem's feet to the fire.

Don't talk to me about double standards :wall:
