There actually are virtually no regulations during the startup phase. The startup phase is pretty much the intellectual phase of a company,s birth. Are you claiming that the Gubmint has the ability to read our minds and knows who us working on a startup, what it the startup, and exactly what part of the garage we are soaking in?

Have you done any research to find out what the regulations are that squash business development ? Why not do that and then petition for changes in the laws to create a better business climate.

Oh cone on now all of us Baby Boomers were trained killers after all we grew up watching John Wayne kill millions of injuns, and our basic training and AIT was watching Combat and rapid fire training came from the Rifleman and us AIrForce types learned bombing and navigation techniques from Col Savage on 12 O,Clock high. Granted a person, selling socks on the Internet, can probably make a living for years, or some person with an idea can simply try to sell that idea or improve it, in his basement. But once you get involved with employees, construction, city/State and Federal regulations, people are failing at an alarming rate.

Small business in the US amounts up to 80% of GDP in some States. Farming or Agriculture have long gone to "Contracting Labor" to avoid regulations, even some grocers have their selves stocked or business out sources cleaning and security duties. However most small business can't afford this system or comply with all the regulations....apparently you don't understand.

Since start ups are so important, now less than failures, why is the federal involved at all? Let the States do what they wish for regulating practices. No business, trying to get going and make a profit, is going to purposely mistreat their labor or harm their customers. Trump has gone through this, even at the International level and I hope deregulate, even if only small business start ups.....

 

Startups have always failed at a high rate. That is the market at work.

Please show where this rate has gone up because of red tape.

 

If you are claiming that new business failures are all or almost all caused by regulations I would like to see your data in order to determine if there are any facts there to support such a claim. My wife,s cousin who ended up being president of the company her Grandfather founded managed to run it into bankruptcy by over expanding faster and higher than the demand for their services could bear has cried up the same excuse about how unions caused the failure. I find that people will blame others and other things for their failures. So are you blaming the Gubmint for all of these failures?.. I think that you may be!

Any new or change in regulations, especially from the Federal, can be costly...But most of those that could venture into some business are simply not currently ready to try. Sure, management can and does play a role in any failure, but we're talking generally, not antidotal.

 

Not really in the US, Start ups have always been greater than failures, since such records have been kept. I'll add, our population is growing at a faster rate as well, even if illegally, and that particular
group, generally caters to small business.
