` ` This is an arbitrary scale. 10 would mean you are totally committed (body and soul) to your political beliefs and 1 would mean absolute indifference.
I'm about 2 o 3, maybe 4 during a big campaign year but never higher. I don't think Americans are supposed to be. The Founding Fathers saw government as something you did after you'd been successful at something else and wanted to give something back. It wasn't supposed to be how you made your living. Two good books that show how George Washington epitomized this are Cinncinnatus by Gary Wills and First Entepreneur by Gary Lengel. Washington was the wealthiest man in the country during the ARW and a well-known agricultural innovator.
` I was just kidding but I did muck up this poll. Maybe I'll change the title to; How do you rate things?
My personal political beliefs have dramatically changed over the last five or so years as Republicans became primarily TP extremists and accomplished nothing beyond impotent foot stomping. The potency of my dissatisfaction has increased quite a bit this year however with the acceptance and promotion of a completely useless candidate for President which is basically giving up and bending over. I just registered as a Democrat for the first time in my life to make sure this POS goes away. I'm giving my enthusiasm a solid 1....and my anger a 10.
I have pretty strong political beliefs. As a conservative and orthodox Roman Catholic, my religious beliefs have a strong influence on my political beliefs.
I would say around a 4. I tend to follow common sense and reason. i.e if someone can explain to me their view point, and it makes sense, then I would change my view, regardless if they are hard left, or hard right.
