` Pope Francis said on Sunday that Christians and the Roman Catholic Church should seek forgiveness from homosexuals for the way they had treated them. Speaking to reporters aboard the plane taking him back to Rome from Armenia, he also said the Church should ask forgiveness for the way it has treated women, for turning a blind eye to child labor and for "blessing so many weapons" in the past. In the hour-long freewheeling conversation that has become a trademark of his international travels, Francis was asked if he agreed with recent comments by a German Roman Catholic cardinal that the Church should apologize to gays. Francis looked sad when the reporter asked if an apology was made more urgent by the killing of 49 people at a gay club in Orlando, Florida this month. He recalled Church teachings that homosexuals "should not be discriminated against. They should be respected, accompanied pastorally."He added: "I think that the Church not only should apologize ... to a gay person whom it offended but it must also apologize to the poor as well, to the women who have been exploited, to children who have been exploited by (being forced to) work. It must apologize for having blessed so many weapons." - Source` ****************` This pronouncement by Pope Frank....OK, Francis, is already causing stomachs to churn, once again, on the American Christian scene. As for me, I absolutely welcome this. Such a departure from historic orthodox Catholicism, is indeed refreshing.
Nobody cares anymore. The Catholic Church is a meaningless relic making a last pathetic attempt to be relevant in the modern world.
It would better that the Catholic Church apologizes for letting all those gays become priests and then molest children. That us the apology that needs to be activated.
That is not the truth. Gays are allowed to become priests. Just not practicing gays. Celibacy makes all that moot. Or is supposed to. And Pedophiles are not gay, they are pedophiles.

Sigh, I will try to educate. First it is not really that gays that molest children. It is, by definition, child molesters who molest children. Molesters do not necessarily choose their victims consistent with their adult orientation. They pick them generally because they are accessible, vulnerable to the preferred tactics/ or 'sales pitch' , unprotected and perceived as less likely to talk, or because the perp feels more comfortable associating and communicating with that gender. Insofar as Priests who were allowed more access to boys, felt that boys would be less willing to talk because they had to be 'tougher' or felt more shame, and insofar as those male priests felt their 'grooming tactics' were better suited towards boys, its pretty logical that male victims would dominate the scandal. So lets rephrase the assertion: The church should apologize for letting all those child molesters become priests. Not sure how much they could do to screen them, besides looking at the same criminal background checks everyone else does. Its a hard thing to screen for. More to the point. The church should apologize for protecting them, and hiding them and hiding them again, and then hiding them again . Actually the Church, specifically Pope Francis already did that in 2014 and Pope Benedict XVI in 2010.
Catholic sectarians leave Christianity. By the way, if continued the Pope's logic, he should publicly wash a few (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)s in African cannibals-gays. Dad can even kiss their in the most important place for gays.
The word of God is never changing, it remains true because it is truth. The Roman Catholic Church is of satan, and always has been. I could care less what the Pope says, especially when he believes he is Jesus under the veil of flesh. It's blasphemy. The entire church will be judged accordingly.
