    I would guess that it is too much political correctness. That said, most Muslims are peaceful. Just because a few engage in terrorism doesn't mean that all Muslims are terrorists or that all Islam is incompatible with freedom.

    To curb it or stop it, we have to figure out a way to not entice new suicide bombers. New recruits. We have to show radical Islam is not a path to heaven and 72 virgins.
    Blowing them to bits won't change a mind set.

    Christianity does not say that. That is a take off of 1 of the ten commandments. Christianity adopted them but it isn't christian in origin.
    And I believe, in original language translated today, is ' thou shalt not murder'. A huge difference between killing and murder to the person doing it and those allowing it.
    A muslim radical terrorist isn't committing murder, they are killing in the name of God. As many a christian has also done.

    I've seen you justify killing many many many times. God killed, but God can kill and its not murder in your eyes. So a christian killed by Gods wishes, so it's not murder in their eyes.
    A muslim kills, but not murder, for it is justified per God as it is the christian, in their eyes.

    The only real difference is, your eyes vs their eyes.

    There is a difference when protecting the word of God. As opposed to killing those who don't believe in a certain religion. If a nation or empire is looking to destroy Christianity, what is the reason for that? The practice of Christianity hurts nobody, only helps people. So for a nation or nations to seek to destroy Christians and the word of God, is already in itself wrong. If killing must be done to protect it, than it will be. But it is not being done simply because they don't believe, but because they seek to destroy.

    I am not saying that Christians do no good, but many have been hurt by Christian practices, whether you recognize them as Christians doing those things, or doing those things not in accordance with how you practice your faith. The parents who choose their faith over medicine when the child falls I'll, and the child dies as a result, that's harm right there. The tribal doctor who suggests a family member needs to be killed because they're possessed by demons or witchcraft, that's harm right there. The priests who betray the trust of the innocent and take their money or their innocence from them, utilizing the religion in a way you yourself would probably never even consider, this is also a great deal of harm. Religion does not do only good, whatever brand of it you happen to enjoy.

    Be careful of wolves in sheep's clothing. Your describing things that are not related to Christianity. If I go out and kill people in the name of Christianity, obviously I am not Christian (wolf in sheep's clothing). If I am muslim and I go out and kill in the name of allah, obviously I am muslim.

    Nobody is hurt by Christian practices. Practicing Christianity is the exact opposite. Anything else is a false Christian. For instance the Vatican, or the Roman Catholic Church (RCC). This is a false Christian faith. The pope claims to be Jesus hidden behind a veil of flesh. They have changed time and law's. Time as in the calendar. A biblical year is 360 days. The RCC has changed a lot of biblical days, including the Sabbath, which is the last day of the week Saturday. The day God rested from creation. The RCC changed that in the minds of people simply by making the day of worship Sunday, they knew they couldn't do it by saying the Sabbath so they hid behind day of worship, and overtime it was changed in the minds of people. Saturday we are not suppose to work, nor our sons, nor our daughters, nor our male servant, nor our female servant, nor our ox, nor our donkey. It should actually be a very peaceful day. Just changing the calendar from 360 days to 365 days a year, that means the real biblical days have been missed. Those who have eyes see this, others cannot.

    Even the good muslims are to kill all infidels, it is in their religion, or it is the religion. This needs to be stopped, any religion that harms or kills others for not believing in it, needs to be stopped or not taught anymore. The good muslims, they know what is taking place in the world right now, because of their religion. To keep that religion is willingly putting themselves in harms way, and supporting death to all infidels. The good muslims need to denounce it, I mean how can one support a religion that asks for the death of those who do not believe. What they merely ignore that part and adhere to the rest, simply to be known as good muslims?

    How is that a double standard? Islam teaches to kill all infidels, or those who do not believe in allah. It teaches to kill those who partake in certain sins. Christianity teaches neither, rather the exact opposite. So it is not a double standard. One who kills as a muslim is doing what the religion calls for. One who kills as a Christian is doing what the religion says not to. Thus not a Christian.

    Show me just one........ just one single country of the 50 some Muslim countries that doesn't outlaw homosexuality and has equal rights for women. Just one country. Do you see the problem here? In the 21st (*)(*)(*)(*)ing century hundreds of years after the rest of the world has learned from the Renaissance and the Reformation there are absolutely ZERO Muslim countries that meet even that basic criteria and Islam has been around for 1600 years now. There is a reason that every single last Muslim country is on the very bottom of the Freedom Index next to dictators and single party regimes. The very religion itself preaches violence, conformity and authoritarianism. Reconciling Christianity with secularism was easy since many versus referred to Jesus deferring to the government on issues like taxation and aside from the obligitory moral preaching he never dictated that anyone should be executed for their moral sins.

    Islam is the opposite, Islam does teach killing of people that don't conform. Islam seeks to replace those secular laws with its own sharia which is NOT compatible in any way shape or form with our laws. If you remove the sharia aspect you are removing THE core tenet of Islam itself.

    And before you do that stupid thing that everyone seems to do with quoting OT Bible versus, christians follow the NT not the OT and even if you look at a religion like Judaism that follows the OT, they aren't running around killing gays and their women have the same rights in Israel as the men.

    And similar religions have reformed. The Bible is full of mandated violence, conformity and authoritarianism.

    So "easy" that it took over a millenium and a half to accomplish?

    Paul did. In Romans he lists several sins that are still "worthy of death" and later in that same book says that ALL political leaders (yes, that would include leaders in the Middle East) are personally appointed by God, and that they wield the sword as God's executioners.

    In the West, millions of Muslims practice sharia in a way that is compatible with the law of the land -- through religiously based mitigation services.

    Funny how so many Muslims seem to disagree.

    Do you know why this country was founded?
    To get away from a christian church that ruled the country.

    Do you know there are christian countries today, that do some of what radical islam is doing today?

    All are justified in their minds as doing God's work.

    America was founded on three documents: The Declaration of Independence; The Paris Peace Treaty of 1783, and the Constitution. These documents give conclusive proof that America is a Christian nation. One does not need a law degree or a degree in history to grasp this truth. It is obvious to anyone who does not have an agenda. Let us review the documents and show this proof.

    The Declaration has many references to God throughout the document. The most famous one is that men are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights.

    “We hold these Truths to be self-evident, that all Men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness”

    The Bible can be used to justify death sentences as well. You wouldn't do that? Great. Catholics fighting Protestants in northern Ireland don't share your disdain for violence, and both still take their cues from the same books as you.

    Again your talking the Old Testament. After Jesus, (New Covenant) "Let him without sin cast the first stone". Nobody on earth is without sin, thus no stone shall be cast. Even in the Old Testament, thou shall forgive, thou shall not kill.

    Christianity reformed hundreds of years ago when science and democracy didn't even exist anymore except in stories and had to be rediscovered. Islam TODAY exists in a state of barbarism despite being surrounded by countries that clearly show a better way.

    And how many Christian nations follow Paul's advice? By the way that is Paul not Jesus in case you missed it. You just made my point. At what point does Islam reject Mohammads Hadith's that preach violence.......you know Mohammad the Islamic version of Jesus?

    So find me the equivalent percentage of Christians or Jews that think the OT should be the law of the land in these numbers.

    Aside from places like Uganda, not many. Christianity has largely reformed.

    Paul wrote most of the Christian scriptures, not Jesus, in case you missed it. Also, in case you missed it, Christian fundamentalists have taught for two thousand years that Pauls words in the Bible are the words of God, without fault.

    Then you are concocting a new point.

    In fundamentalist Christianity, the Bible is the Word of God. You know God, the Christian version of Allah?

    So find me anywhere where I've claimed that. Nice attempt to shift goalposts.

    None of what you've written does anything in the slightest to disprove my observations:
    - Christianity reformed, and so can Islam.
    - The fact that millions of Muslims coexist in the West is proof that Muslims can coexist.

    That is what you choose to follow, and that's fine, but your holy texts have more than one message. People also supposedly have this free will thing, and they can choose to decide for themselves that the NT doesn't eliminate the OT, correct?

    You're still using the OT yourself, and as such, wasn't Moses given those tablets with the commandment of 'thou shalt not kill' right before God then told him to exterminate numerous tribes?

    Maybe I am not making my point clear enough. Islam has been around almost as long as Christianity. Christianity only predates it by 600 years. The early Islamic societies were renowned for their sciences and academia. At some point (forget exactly when) they made a hard turn to fundamentalist interpretation. Meanwhile Christianity went the other route. It might be that Islam already had their Reformation and simply took the opposite direction that Christianity did. We are no in the 21st Centurty with instant global communications, well established physical sciences and hundreds of years of examples of democracy having been irrefutable proven to the THE best form of government that we have available. So please tell me why on earth in this day and age would you still have those numbers from ANY religion essentially rejecting liberty and freedom. And yet while the rest of the world including Bhuddists and Hindus are moving towards those goals the Islamic nations are in fact going backwards and digging deeper into fundamentalism.

    Turkey and Malaysia, the two examples that were constantly held up as proof that Islam could reform, have now slid back into barbarism.

    If Islam isn't showing ANY signs of moderating today then what the hell exactly is supposed to make it happen?

    Not 1 single document says God.
    Even the quote you posted does not say God.
    Their is each own's creator. Can be the sun for some.

    Huh, we agree on more than I originally thought.

    I can't completely figure out why the left is so obstinate on this issue. I mean, even if someone wanted to make the argument that we needed immigration, why in the hell would you choose to get the most religiously fanatical people on the planet? It's not as if there aren't plenty of other, more well-adjusted people willing to immigrate.

    OTHER: A lot of young people grew up in a liberal mentality/attitude....and liberals had programmed society that it's racist to say that. You'll be called a "promoter of hate." You get villified instead.


    They've effectively chipped away at our freedom of speech.
