This seems reasonable on the surface, and more openness in the beginning may have put an end to it, or it might have opened a Pandora's box. There's a reason you don't give in to your opponent's every demand, especially ridiculous ones, like "show us the birth certificate." I can't remember the last time the Democrats held a witch hunt; they're not very good at it.

Of course they would. Like I said, though, the Democrats aren't good at it.

This is why I don't like the Republicans when a Democrat is president. They spend all their effort on destroying the administration. A cum stained dress for crissakes. The whole affair was repulsive.

When Republicans hold the White House, they act sanely, the Iraq War notwithstanding. It would be nice if they could focus on being the majority party in Congress, and work with the administration. That goes both ways, of course, but when you're finalizing the seventh investigative commission, you're about four steps into a witch-hunt.

Yes, I know all this, but it's irrelevant to my point. As I said, the comparison is in principle. Principles don't have price tags.

I don't need to be reminded of international banking practices to oppose wasting time, much less money on a political witch hunt. That's all.

Bankers may be wiping their asses with $7 million a day. They and Gowdy can kiss my white ass.

That's because you've missed the point.

The point is, you don't really care what money is being wasted or by whom, as long as it isn't yours.

    Yes, they do.

If anybody has actually watched the proceedings of these investigations and still complaining about why it took so long, they are hopeless shills. The republicans on the committee were hamstrung by the "bipartisan" nature of the investigation, with the democrats taking up a lot of the time and money just to apologize for what they said is an obvious witch hunt, and instead of using their time to ask relevant questions, they just attacked the republicans on the committee. Then the various witnesses called were all completely in the dark about anything and everything. If you asked one of them what the time is, they would have said that is beyond their pay grade, and the presence of a clock on a wall does not necessarily mean that the clock is showing the correct time.

If I had been gowdy, I would have waterboarded them all personally. Especially Cummings!

Elijah Cummings is a partisan hack of the worst order . He had no intention of getting at the truth of the matter and put party above all else. He is a prime example of what a congressman should not be.

You're under the misconception that you speak for me. You don't, therefore, you have no argument here. You're just wrong.

I send elected officials to DC to do a job, not to involve themselves in witch hunts. If you don't comprehend that, then I'm sorry.

I'm not speaking for you; rather, simply outlining that individuals do not behave in ways they think they do. I really only need one example to show why you're not correct.

And how do you gauge whether or not elected officials are doing their jobs correctly?

Hmm...., $7 million is chicken feed compared to the following :
$6 Billion Vanishes From State Dept. Under Hillary Clinton ...
    http://www.judicialwatch.org/blog/2014/04/6-bil-vanishes-from-state-dept-under-hillary-clinton/
... billions vanished from the U.S. State Department mostly while Hillary ... that and a $52 million deal was awarded to a ... examples over the years, ...
    [**Snip**]
This “exposes the department to significant financial risk,” according to the State Department Inspector General, which issued a special management alert this month outlining the lost $6 billion. The watchdog further writes that “it creates conditions conducive to fraud, as corrupt individuals may attempt to conceal evidence of illicit behavior by omitting key documents from the contract file.”
Among the examples listed in the memo is a recent investigation of the closeout process for contracts involving the U.S. mission in Iraq. Investigators could not locate 33 of the 115 contract files totaling approximately $2.1 billion. Even of the files they found, more than half contained insufficient documents required by federal law. In one billion-dollar deal involving the State Department’s Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement in Afghanistan, the actual contract was determined to be “incomplete.”

I said nothing about behavior. Do you not understand the meaning of "principle?" If you think you know better than me what my principles are, then any further discussion with you is pointless. It's basically at that point now.

Witch hunt. My words were clear. You can try to twist it any which way you want. Not gonna change a thing.

Lmao, that $6 billion that was "lost" was not under Hillary Clinton. It was from 2004 when they simply brought billions of dollars in cash to Iraq. You guys are hilarious the way you'll spin things and just blatantly lie about events.

Au Contraire: "In a mind-boggling example of how the government blows—or perhaps steals—our tax dollars, billions vanished from the U.S. State Department mostly while Hillary Clinton ran it, according to a new alert issued by the agency’s inspector general."

    http://www.judicialwatch.org/document-archive/statedept-alert/
    March 20, 2014
"In sum, over the past 6 years, our audit work has uncovered significant contract file management deficiencies in Department contracts/task orders with a total value of more than $6 billion."
