Comey knew this crap was coming though, the last two paragraphs of his statement are: "I know there will be intense public debate in the wake of this recommendation, as there was throughout this investigation. What I can assure the American people is that this investigation was done competently, honestly, and independently. No outside influence of any kind was brought to bear. I know there were many opinions expressed by people who were not part of the investigation including people in government but none of that mattered to us. I'm also not wondering if perhaps Comey didn't overstep his bounds, politically speaking. Even as he himself pointed out, a FBI Director issuing a statement like this is a bit unusual. Some legal beagles in the center and on the left are wondering about this also.

We'll see, two days isn't very long for the staff of the Oversight Committee to get the members of this committee prepared. I can understand their haste though, they are very much aggrieved and will lash out at anyone & anybody. I just hope they do a saner job than what they did with the 7 Benghazi hearings. Or is this just the start of another inquisition, a witch hunt perhaps?
