Lets assume the worst case scenario and the Klinton is elected POTUS with a subsequent assault weapon ban passed. The big question is what will be the compliance for registration and/or confiscation. It's very easy to see the anti-gun forces will make via fiat criminals of literally millions of hard working Americans. If compliance with the laws in CA, CT and NY are an indicator, then very very few Americans will obey. In NY the compliance rate was estimated at only 4%.
IMHO, such an action will only drive the country towards an inevitable conclusion which a blind man can see coming.

    You can clearly see a trend, more people than ever before, are making firearms, not just junkers either, if you search you tube, you will see people making high quality AKs, ARs, even a Lady Machinist that made a single action 1873 Revolver from round stock, every part, when idiots like Hillary think that firearms are not a part of life, you start to realize the following still holds true;

"I do not know whether it is to yourself or Mr. Adams I am to give my thanks for the copy of the new constitution. I beg leave through you to place them where due.

It will be yet three weeks before I shall receive them from America. There are very good articles in it: and very bad. I do not know which preponderate.

What we have lately read in the history of Holland, in the chapter on the Stadtholder, would have sufficed to set me against a Chief magistrate eligible for a long duration, if I had ever been disposed towards one: and what we have always read of the elections of Polish kings should have forever excluded the idea of one continuable for life.

Wonderful is the effect of impudent and persevering lying. The British ministry have so long hired their gazetteers to repeat and model into every form lies about our being in anarchy, that the world has at length believed them, the English nation has believed them, the ministers themselves have come to believe them, and what is more wonderful, we have believed them ourselves.

Yet where does this anarchy exist? Where did it ever exist, except in the single instance of Massachusets? And can history produce an instance of a rebellion so honourably conducted?

I say nothing of it's motives. They were founded in ignorance, not wickedness. God forbid we should ever be 20. years without such a rebellion.[1] The people can not be all, and always, well informed.

The part which is wrong will be discontented in proportion to the importance of the facts they misconceive. If they remain quiet under such misconceptions it is a lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty. We have had 13. states independant 11. years. There has been one rebellion.

That comes to one rebellion in a century and a half for each state. What country ever existed a century and a half without a rebellion? And what country can preserve it's liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance?
Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two?

The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is it's natural manure.

Our Convention has been too much impressed by the insurrection of Massachusets: and in the spur of the moment they are setting up a kite to keep the hen yard in order. I hope in God this article will be rectified before the new constitution is accepted." - Thomas Jefferson to William Stephens Smith, Paris, 13 Nov. 1787"

You are most correct in that the backup plan will be the domestic manufacture of untraceable firearms. Already the sale of CNC milling and metal bending machines along with polymer plastic molding technology/ 3D printers are making this a reality. Polymer has already been used for AR 15 lowers.

The 80% receivers are just the beginning. There is no telling how many of them are out there. I predict a huge number of polymer lowers as the next big deal as well as magazines. In the mean time complete rifle sales as well as registered lowers and spare parts are being sold in huge numbers. It makes you wonder what the anti-gunners are trying to ban.

I know what they are trying to ban, I am seeing the same thing here on the Forum, a certain Moderator has made it her mission to harass and intimidate Me now, it is the concepts of Freedom & Liberty they are trying to get rid of, that is what all the talk of scrapping the Constitution and BoR is about.

Even though it was poorly done, the Movie Red Dawn is a good example of what will happen if they try confiscation.
And if anyone thinks old dudes are useless, bring it on.

I liked how the Russian guy said, let's look at the 4473 forms to see who has guns !!! like the gun shops would not burn them ?

Well, they didn't have time to burn them (at least not in the 1980s Red Dawn).

Both movies are pretty unrealistic. You really think that if Russia was to attack us they wouldn't use nukes and go with conventional warfare? A truly conventional war would be pretty costly under the current gun ownership. Sure, they may mount a surprise attack on the coastal states but word will spread, FAST.

Russians are very smart, they are not interested in Destroying the U.S. as much as taking it over in Business and other Infrastructure, the Russians are successfully buying businesses, and the Russian Government knows this.

The demise of the Soviet Onion, was a carefully planned strategy and a Master plan of great ingenuity, classic misdirection just like a lizards tail in the paws of a cat, while the important part of the lizard escapes harm.

A year ago my state passed a law requiring background checks on private sales. My sheriff said he wouldn't enforce the law. I don't think he's going to enforce any kind of registration either.

That and buying American politicians. They own (or at least rent) both of our major party Presidential candidates right now.

Compliance is voluntary matter, anyone who doesn't comply will only face charges provided the government could obtain a warrant. Unless of course someone were open carrying a firearm that was clearly banned. Otherwise the government has no recourse to stop anyone who simply doesn't comply. The idea behind this whole registration, bans, and other nonsense relies wholly on the idea that people will just blindly go against the Constitution and their own self-interest...

Unlike most of the rest of the world, America has a unique history as it relates to Rights and especially to the Right to keep and bear Arms.

It was civilians, not a military, that organized to throw off the yoke of tyranny by King George. We also had many discussions and debates regarding issues like Liberty and unalienable Rights. Today that is ingrained into our culture. It is the culture that the left seeks to destroy - even if it has to be done incrementally on the installment plan. According to one history site:

"The single most important influence that shaped the founding of the United States comes from John Locke, a 17th century Englishman who redefined the nature of government. Although he agreed with Hobbes regarding the self-interested nature of humans, he was much more optimistic about their ability to use reason to avoid tyranny. In his Second Treatise of Government, Locke identified the basis of a legitimate government. According to Locke, a ruler gains authority through the consent of the governed. The duty of that government is to protect the natural rights of the people, which Locke believed to include life, liberty, and property. If the government should fail to protect these rights, its citizens would have the right to overthrow that government. This idea deeply influenced Thomas Jefferson as he drafted the Declaration of Independence.

    http://www.ushistory.org/gov/2.asp

In another article I found about Locke:

"...Locke affirmed an explicit right to revolution: “whenever the Legislators endeavor to take away, and destroy the Property of the People, or to reduce them to Slavery under Arbitrary Power, they put themselves into a state of War with the People, who are thereupon absolved from any farther Obedience, and are left to the common Refuge, which God hath provided for all Men, against Force and Violence. Whensoever therefore the Legislative shall transgress this fundamental Rule of Society; and either by Ambition, Fear, Folly or Corruption, endeavor to grasp themselves, or put into the hands of any other an Absolute Power over the Lives, Liberties, and Estates of the People; By this breach of Trust they forfeit the Power, the People had put into their hands, for quite contrary ends, and it devolves to the People, who have a Right to resume their original Liberty.”

    https://fee.org/articles/john-locke-natural-rights-to-life-liberty-and-property/

This kind of reasoning was instrumental in the formation of both the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. So, those Americans who are aware of the roots of the constitutional Republic that they live in realize that power is inherent in the people. We dare not trust a government that is so big it gives us our daily bread.

The fact that we are now prepared to build our own weapons and to resist the advances that the people of Australia and Great Britain succumbed to means that we will have weapons for many years to come. Civil disobedience, passive resistance (not registering nor giving up weapons) will only be stops along a journey that someday will culminate in the government thinking they can disarm a free nation.

LMAO, I think we all get that. My point is that conservatively there are well over 300 million firearms in the US and more likely over half a billion. Record sales are set every month along with magazines. Ammo production is at the max. In addition, the means of self manufacture of firearms is already well established and is only going to become more common.
Liberals as concrete thinkers don't get it and never will. Somehow they think that if you make all firearms illegal, then "eventually" firearm violence will end. They could care less that they'll make criminals by fiat of the literally tens of millions of previously law abiding citizens. Liberals also fail to realize its their own acolytes that commit the vast majority of the gun crime. They also don't realize if criminals need a weapon they'll find one, most likely through illegal importation. After all, we know how successful we are at keeping illegal weapons out of the country.

Liberals want the state to have a monopoly on force.
That cannot happen so long as the populace is armed.

When we are completely disarmed, ( never, I hope ) the Liberals will then send their Thugs among us and those Thugs will be well armed and pillage and ravish and all manner of crimes against us, and they will not lift a finger to help us.

If such conditions were met, would it not be likely for the construction of molotov cocktails to increase, and be used against enemy combatants who are in an open area, and not within motor vehicles?
