Tennessee is not a dry state. It has dry counties in it, like the one that the Jack Daniels distillery is in. (edit: the county that Jack Daniels is in is semi-dry--you can't buy an alcoholic beverage in a bar or restaurant, but you can buy alcohol at a package store).

Tennessee has dry counties, semi-dry counties and wet counties. Dry counties allow absolutely no alcohol sales. Semi-dry counties allow cities in the county to choose whether or not to have alcohol sales, or can restrict sales to stores only (no bars). Wet counties allow alcohol sales in the entire county. Per wiki, Tennessee has 95 counties--26 are dry, 60 are semi-dry, and 9 are wet.

No, it's the lower that's the "gun." You can buy uppers without an FFL being involved, you can only buy a finished lower with an FFL being involved.

Lower: note FFL has to be involved

    Upper:no FFL mentioned.

Thanks for such an accuracy. So the matter is not a state matter, but a county matter ... or it's the single state to decide of to leave the matter to the counties?

so Ron, tell us how a semi auto magazine rifle doesn't "mimic" a semi auto magazine fed rifle

Can you name a semi auto rifle that fits your description and is not subject to this law?

Healey’s new unilateral directive states that any rifle with the same, “internal operating systems that are essentially the same as illegal assault weapons, or have key functional components that are interchangeable with those of banned weapons” will now be banned.

    Basically all semi-auto rifles.

State matter, fundamentally, but they can delegate it to the counties, which is what Tennessee does.

Well, considering that John Browning made his first machine gun from a lever action rifle, I'm not sure any repeating rifle is safe.

All semi-automatic firearms use a similar method of operation in its internal components. Absolutely every last one of them. Whether it is blowback, direct gas impingement, or gas piston operation, they all operate in the same manner.

I bought 2, complete Palmetto lowers, 179 each. Cash, no paper work from an FFL at the Melbourne Gunshow last year. Built one as a pistol and one as a rife using uppers from BMC.
Sold both for a good profit, not one drop of ink in any of the transactions.

    Opposition has begun ...

    http://freedomoutpost.com/goal-to-rally-against-rogue-ma-attorney-general-healey-on-july-23-2016/

    http://www.masslive.com/politics/index.ssf/2016/07/gun_owners_angry_at_mass_attor.html

Though the Govenor says she has the authority, he has asked for clarification. Some are calling for impeachment. Some law makers, while generally in favor of gun control, feel she ursurped their power.

    The Massachusetts Constitution states:

    http://www.guns.com/2016/07/22/mass-semi-auto-crackdown-results-in-2549-rifles-sold-in-one-day/

    http://bearingarms.com/jenn-j/2016/07/22/ma-attorney-general-gun-control-logic-in-one-pie-chart/

I am certain there will be legal action introduced quickly....

There is, incidentally, a considerable voice among a few in the social media that are predicting this could actually lead to an increase in violence, including a few extremist advocating for more extreme measures of demonstration.

This will likely grow in scope because some gun rights advocates will be concerned about collateral moves by some in those states already not gun ownership friendly...both sides are watching closely, but expect gun rights groups to unleash money fighting this...

The AG indicated that they would not go after pre-ban guns, so I would expect a few to build their own or acquire them from private owners that have built them as you have...

First you say the upper is the gun then you say you bought two complete lowers from an FFL with no paperwork (which requires FFLs to do a NICS check). Methinks you didn't buy from an FFL or you don't know what you are talking about.

BATFE haunts Gun Shows with Undercover Agents trying to buy Guns from FFL Dealers, those Dealers are not stupid enough to risk their Business, to make a small profit on a few illegal sales,

    There's more to this story.
Else, the FFL broke the law.

So did he as a customer, then confesses to being an unlicensed gun dealer, something of a hypocrite.

BATFE would like to know of his Nefarious Machinations.
