Sea walls have been around worldwide for centuries. This one, The Ancient Sea Wall at Batroun, Lebanon, was built by the Phoenicians during the 1st century.

 

So are you saying Trump is too stupid to plan a golf course without need of building a sea wall when none is currently needed?

Is your pic stupidly suggesting the oceans were higher in the First Century?

 

Did it ever occur to you that its' all about location, location, location, and a sea wall, like thousands of others across the globe, protect his investment? BTW, if Trump is stupid for buying property that might someday benefit from a sea wall, then please describe the intelligence of the New Orleans population for me. Thank you very much.

Seawalls are generally used to create safe harbors (your example of Lebanon) or to reclaim land (Netherlands).

Seawalls are used to prevent erosion of built-up land.

But here's the thing...none of that applies to Trump's golf course.

We have a very decent understanding, plenty of well built ports exist from 1st Century. Pyraeus, Ostia. To name two. Their 1st century constructions tell us plenty about the sea level then. Not to mention a bunch of other methods of determining paleo-sea-levels.

I keep forgetting the sea level has never changed EVAH before AGW alarmists came along.

 

It's amusing that Trump's golf course doesn't need a sea wall, and he's building it for a 1 meter rise in sea level, but the posters here all they have is references back to a 1900 year old sea wall that was needed at the time where it was built.

What do you mean? Seawalls (if Im understanding you correctly) are needed because of global warming is coming to get us. So since its never happened before then by default this has to be the first seawall.

 

Wait...if he doesn't need a sea wall then the seas aren't rising, then why the global warming alarmism? What about natural erosion? Coming from NJ I used to read a lot about erosion occurring during the storm seasons and occasional tail end of a hurricane.

It's hard to argue that NOT needing a sea wall is proof of global warming when the alarmist argument is the other way around.
