Orange-sociopath has no trouble fabricating stories out of whole cloth. He promoted and pushed birtherism for years for his own political purposes then drops it like a hot potato again for political purposes. He creates and drops controversial subjects made out of nothing over and over month after month. Like I said, Trump did not create this 'birther' thing, he is just the guy that the powers put at the head of it to act as controlled opposition. Many 'birthers' believe the Obama birth certificate to be a fake. Perhaps Trump was talking about that. Bush knew that Obama was a natural born citizen but he refused to speak up and end the controversy. And anyone else with two active brain cells knew that Obama was a natural born citizen because there was no way in hell the establishment would ever allow a foreigner to become POTUS.

Chester Arthur was a accused of being born in Canada, and not Vermont.
Charles Huges, who ran against Wilson was accused of not being qualified, because his dad was from Wales.
Barry Goldwater had his citizenship challenged in the election against LBJ, because he was born in Arizona when it was a territory.
Mitt Romeny's dad, George Romney had his citizenship challenged when he ran for president, because he was born in the Mormon colony in Mexico, even both his parents were born in Utah.
And, oh ya, the same time Clinton surrogates were spreading rumors about Obama not being qualified due to his citizenship status, John McCain's came into question, because he was born in the Panama Canal Zone, because his dad was stationed there with the Navy.
