The ignorance on this thread is staggering. Some people obviously think Arabs and Persians are the same ethnic group (although Huma Abedin is neither). Every Iranian (Persian) I have discussed this with is very clear that they are NOT Arabs - they are offended if you call them Arabs.

Some people also thinks that all Arabs are Muslims or perhaps all Muslims are Arabs.

Persian / Arab is an ethnic distinction.
Muslim / Christian is a religious distinction.
American / Russian is a national distinction.

 

And her father was born in New Delhi, India... also not Arabic.
