Do not confuse a genuine progressive with the loony tunes modern liberal. For I am a genuine progressive, as we saw with FDR and those policies that took back control of this nation from the robber barons. And what you wrote would be agreeable to a real progressive. Which the democratic party no longer has any.

The only thing you left off that a real progressive would support is anti open borders free trade. For the FDR progressive represented the best interests of the common man, working people, the working middle class. And open border free trade is destroying these people economically.

Progressivism is rare today. But it is making a comeback. For its basic common sense. For when all else fails, there is a place for common sense progressivism. Of course that word has been corrupted to mean something else. It means the same thing as modern liberalism today, but it is not modern liberalism. Modern liberalism does not give a damn about the average American. They cannot get their heads out from their unicorn and rainbow idealism to care about anything but a set of fanciful, feel good ideas. Which the world has never given us. For they are impractical. And cannot work, due to something stronger than ideas, human nature.

I think that you are correct... The Democratic Party seems to have gotten rid of
true progressives who would also have agreed with much of what GeddonM3 wrote.

 

I do believe that the situation is so desperate that some sort of Islamic database must be created......
and... frankly.... a Sufi Muslim who can demonstrate that they have been Sufi for a number of years
would almost immediately be free of suspicion because Sufi Muslims......

and Islamic Mystics.... DO NOT TEACH their kids to become suicide bombers.......

that is just a fact......

That is done by a different branch of Islam that almost anybody willing to read

Let's see...Trump's famous Basket of Deplorables include such notables as the white trash woman in Des Moines, caught voting twice for Trump. And the Kentucky Clerk. Grifter ranchers out West who take over federal buildings. And let's not leave out Neo-Nazi's StormFront, the Klan, white militias, the NRA, the low-information crowd, and those who never went to college. Even the rare black Trump supporter who has an odd, checkered past.
