This has to be one of the most disgusting things I've read in the anti-trump movement aside from what that "mother" did to her own child. DeNiro actually equating how he felt when America was attacked and 3000 people died at the hands of terrorists to his feelings after this election. How sick do you have to be to equate these two polar opposite events? Where are the liberals condemning this morbid behavior? Ask the families whose loved ones were murdered that day if they feel the same. Los Angeles (AFP) - Robert De Niro gave anti-Donald Trump protesters across the United States his backing Friday as he spoke about how "depressed" the tycoon's win in the presidential election had made him. The 73-year-old star was on the red carpet at the world premiere of his new film "The Comedian" in Los Angeles when he was asked how he was coping with Trump's victory over Democratic rival Hillary Clinton. "How am I doing? I'm very depressed," the famously laconic "Raging Bull" actor told reporters. "We have to just wait and see how things go and keep our eyes ever vigilant on the new government." Asked if he thought the protests were an appropriate response to the outcome of Tuesday's election, he replied: "Yes, absolutely. Things aren't being done right." Demonstrators took to the streets in Miami, Los Angeles, New York and other US cities for a third straight night on Friday. In Manhattan, they held signs reading "Your Wall Can't Stand in Our Way" -- a reference to the anti-immigration barrier the billionaire has promised to build on the US border with Mexico. De Niro hasn't minced his words in his criticism of Trump, describing him as "a punk," "a pig" and "an idiot." "I'd like to punch him in the face," he said before the election. https://www.yahoo.com/news/depressed-niro-backs-anti-trump-protests-102715725.html
DeNiro was responding the Trump's speech at a rally where Trump said he wanted to punch someone in the face. Meanwhile, many residents are looking to move out of Trump Tower in NYC..
So you know for a fact he's relating to something Trump said at some rally? And who cares if people move out of Trump Tower? I'll gladly move in!
One has to ask themselves where the motives of these nasty protestors would have to be to think that they are in any way logical. Trump's image for them is mostly something that the Clinton cartel and the grossly distorted thing masquerading as media crafted. Since Trump has never held political office- they have no real idea what he can do, other than to say he was smart enough to win in spite of all the advantages if the opposition. If he can do that- just imagine what he might be able to do for America. Since Washington has been fumbling the ball continuously for around 30 years, it's hard to understand why someone would object to passing it to a new player who can run with it. That is, unless you are either stupid or profiting from the bumbling, fumbling excuses that we have been living with. There will always be leaders encouraging free men, and there will always be men who will respect and defend freedom. There will always be sheeple- and flase leaders herding them around blindly to take advantage of them. When you are unwilling to fight for liberty, you endorse tyranny. Such are the sheeple of America.
Deniro is off base. Still, there's something to be said for the image of Donald Trump crashing his election into the middle of the Washington establishment... Agreed. Think, people. It's what's required of the citizens of a vibrant democracy.
always thought DeNiro a talented actor and good citizen of NYC. I guess everyone has their period of idiocy. Symptomatic of the liberal brood.
I do not like any violent demonstration wether they are BLM, ANTI-Trumpeizda, or the modern day so called tea part types. You yap about the fact that there will always be respect fir and men who defend freedom. I agree so why do you object to people demonstrating against Trumpeizda since that is there right to have the freedom of free speech.
Because there is this thing called character assassination, libel, slander, and of course- stupidity. When you have no problem with the candidate of your choice orchestrating disaster for the reputation of her opposition- then think it's "free speech" when you lose- you are a loser. You still have the right therefore to look and act like a jackass fool, a bad-mannered child and all that. But then- there is also a right for others to recognize your behavior and character, and point out that you are a hypocrite with double standards and no honor at all.
This guy is a real cockroach, comparing 9/11 to a presidential election and now all butt hurt and sniveling b/c the dems lost......... Come on, DeNiro! Time to put on your big boy pants and take your loss like a real man, instead of your little boy comments like you'd like to punch Trump in the face. I'm sure Trump being POTUS isn't going to change your lavish lifestyle one iota and if you're that upset about the new prez, then you have the freedom to MOVE to another country.
If those residents dislike Trump so much, why did they move into Trump Tower in the 1st place? If Trump had said that about munching someone in the face - well, shame on him b/c it's a stupid thing to say, but for DeNiro to repeat it is stupid and childish. What did MO and Hillary say? Oh yea...."when they go low, we go HIGH!" Yeah, riiiiight. They don't know how to......
Someone needs to remind Bobby D that playing the role of a tough guy does not make one an actual tough guy. He's a little turd who plays make believe.
You must have a sick demented mind to equate being on the losing side of an election to nearly 3000 people being killed.
Bwahahaha! Stupid actors should keep their mouths shut and just entertain us. They are out of touch elitists who have no idea what they are talking about.
I don't place much truck in anything actors say purely because their lives and livelihood don't revolve around reality. Literally. Silly to listen to them
Hey Robert de Niro did you even vote? Guess what I voted too and if you did my vote cancelled out yours. Let me know how you like whatever country you decide to move to. I hear socialist Venezuela (until recently run by Obama's pal Hugo Chavez) is nice this time of year. If you can live with the lack of toilet paper and the food shortage that is.
