Just because he isn't breaking any laws (and I haven't seen anyone accusing him of breaking any laws), but that doesn't mean he isn't breaking any of his employers regulations. Personally, I think police and military should be able to say whatever they want when they aren't in uniform, but there organizations have codes of conduct that cover even that.

P.S - While I would love people to educate themselves on the Civil War, there is no intellectually honest way to argue against the fact that the chief issue leading to secession was slavery. Period. The North were hardly innocent of racism themselves, and their primary goal was bring the South back into the Union, but the South (in their own words, mind you) primarily left over slavery.

The government has done a lot of stupid things, especially under Obama's reign. Hopefully Trump will stop all this hate aimed towards honoring one's ancestors and political beliefs.
